Manifattura del Duca nasce da una
precisa filosofia di vita, secondo
la quale gli ambienti vengono
progettati con modalità ed elementi
che ci facciano star bene.
E per stare bene dobbiamo
riconoscere intorno a noi materie,
oggetti, stili che fanno parte <strong>della</strong>
nosra storia, e che sono espressione
<strong>della</strong> nostra cultura e del nostro
gusto, anche se collocati in un
contesto diverso ed attuale (ma
la storia è sempre evoluzione).
Ecco quindi Manifattura del Duca
che interpreta la ceramica come
archeologia, come recupero, come
rifacimento dei materiali, con in più
lo straordinario valore donato dal
tempo.

Manifattura del Duca is the result of a
particular philosophy in accordance to
which environments are designed with
techniques and elements to make us feel
good.
To feel good, we must surround ourselves
with materials, objects and styles that are
part of our history and that express our
culture and taste even if they are placed
in a different, modern setting (history
is evolution). This is the philosophy of
Manifattura del Duca: reinterpreting
ceramics as if they were relics of our past,
recreating materials with the benefits that
time has donned.
Manifattura del Duca naît d’une
philosophie de vie bien précise, selon
laquelle les intérieurs sont conçus par des
modalités et des éléments qui nous mettent
à notre aise.
Et pour nous sentir à notre aise, nous
devons toujours reconnaître autour de
nous les matières, les objets et les styles
qui font partie de notre histoire, et qui
sont l’expression de notre culture et de
notre goût, même s’ils sont situés dans un
contexte différent et actuel. (mais l’histoire
est toujours synonyme d’évolution). C’est
ainsi que Manifattura del Duca interprète
la céramique comme archéologie, comme
récupération, comme remaniement des
matériaux avec, en plus, l’extraordinaire
valeur attribuée par le temps.
Manifattura del Duca entspringt einer
präzisen Lebensphilosophie, nach der
Umgebungen in einer Weise und mit
Elementen gestaltet werden, die unser
Wohlbefinden ausmachen.
Und um uns wohlzufühlen, brauchen wir
um uns herum Materialien, Gegenstände
und Stile, die Teil unserer Geschichte
sowie Ausdruck unserer Kultur und
unseres Geschmacks sind, wenn auch in
einem anderen und moderneren Konzept
(denn Geschichte bedeutet ja auch immer
Entwicklung). So interpretiert Manifattura
del Duca die Keramik als Archäologie,
Wiedergeburt und Neugestaltung von
Materialien mit dem zusätzlichen Wert, der
ihnen von der Zeit verliehen wird.

serie Ars ligni, un innovativo legno ceramico,
che trasmette lo stesso calore del legno
attraverso le classiche venature del legno
tagliato a mano, ma mantenendo la duttilità
<strong>della</strong> ceramica. Tecnologia e innovazione,
applicata con arte e maestria per creare
un’armonia di colori e luci nel proprio
ambiente.
The art of wood. It is on this concept that we have developed
the Ars ligni series of innovative ceramic wood tiles, which
generate the same warmth as wood by reproducing the vein
patters typical of hand-carved wood, combined with all the
versatility of ceramics. Technology and innovation, applied
with art and masterly skill to create a fine harmony of light
and colour.

altre per la diversa mano degli scalpellini
che vi hanno lavorato e per le diverse
tonalità che la materia e il tempo hanno loro
donato, Mutinae Cathedralis ne ripropone
le suggestioni per formulare un progetto di
arredo che coglie la serena atmosfera delle
grandi architetture romaniche.
Mutinae Cathedralis takes its inspiration from the centuriesold
stones of the Duomo of Modena (the Cathedral), each
unique owing to the different touch given to it by the stonecutter
and to the different colours donned by time. Mutinae
Cathedralis is an outstanding interior decoration project
that recaptures the serene atmosphere of great Romanesque
architecture.
Inspirée des pierres de la Cathédrale de Modène qui se
différencient les unes des autres grâce à la taille que chaque
tailleur de pierres a imprimée au cours de générations,
Mutinae Cathedralis en repropose le charme, dans un projet
de décoration visant aussi à en saisir une certaine atmosphère
de paix et de sérénité, que seules les grandes architectures
romanes savent exprimer.
Inspiriert an der Gesteinsart des Doms von Modena (Duomo
di Modena), bei denen sich auf Grund der Meißelung, die
im Laufe der Generationen von jedem einzelnen Steinmetz
unterschiedlich durchgeführt wurde, jeder Stein von dem
anderen unterscheidet, werden mit Mutinae Cathedralis
eben diese Eindrücke in einem Einrichtungsentwurf wieder
vermittelt, welcher darauf ausgerichtet ist, auch eine gewisse
Atmosphäre von Frieden und Ruhe auszustrahlen, wobei nur
die großartigen romanischen Architekturen in de Lage sind
dieses auszudrücken.

caratterizzato, nelle diverse epoche, le pavimentazioni
in cotto. Pose, formati, colori delle diverse argille,
fiammature casuali generate da cotture non uniformi,
imprecisioni dell’ artigianalità tipiche del manufatto
antico, si affiancano al più moderno design diventando
così interpreti di creazioni nuove che raccolgono ciò
che di affascinante viene dal passato per trasporlo
negli ambienti sofisticati dei quali l’uomo moderno
ama circondarsi. Perennis - Millenium, i due colori
di FOREVER, si fanno interpreti di questa eclettica,
calda, elegante emozione.
The concept behind the FOREVER collection is revisiting, in an
eclectic manner, the various decorative elements that have
characterised “cotto” floor tiles over the centuries.
Installation patterns, sizes, the colours of different clay, random flash-
eff effects obtained by means of uneven firing, the imprecision of handiwork
that is typical of old products, combine with modern design to create
brand new collections that encompass the charm coming from past
times to transfer it to the sophisticated environments of today.
Perennis - Millenium, the two colours of FOREVER interpret
this eclectic, warm and elegant emotion.
La collection FOREVER revisite de manière éclectique les différents
éléments décoratifs qui ont caractérisé les sols en terre cuite au fil des
différentes époques. Poses, formats, couleurs des différentes argiles,
flammes dues au hasard de cuissons non uniformes et irrégularité
artisanale typique des produits anciens faits main côtoient le design
le plus moderne, se faisant ainsi les interprètes de créations nouvelles
qui réunissent tout le charme du passé pour le transporter dans les
lieux sophistiqués dont l’homme moderne aime à s’entourer. Perennis
et Millenium, les deux coloris de FOREVER, véhiculent cette émotion
éclectique, aussi chaleureuse qu’élégante.
Die Kollektion FOREVER nimmt in eklektischer Weise die dekorativen
Elemente wieder auf, welche Cotto-Böden im Laufe der verschiedenen
Epochen gekennzeichnet haben. Verlegungen, Formate, Farben der
verschiedenen Tone, durch ungleichmäßige Brände erzeugte zufällige
Flammungen und die typischen handwerklichen Ungenauigkeiten des

technologies. The skilled hands of the craftsman and his
furnace may have been replaced by the most advanced

Cotto Lombardo se penche sur les matériaux, les formats et
les technologies de production pour réinterpréter le célèbre
cotto artisanal de Lombardie dans une optique moderne.
Autrefois, nous parlions de l’adresse avec laquelle un artisan
se servait de son four, aujourd’hui, nous nous concentrons sur
la technologie la plus avancée. Mais l’objectif est toujours le
même : faire de la maison un espace impérissable à travers le

Cotto Lombardo ist eine moderne Interpretation des
berühmten Cotto aus dem Handwerk der Region Lombardei
und ist das Resultat intensiver Studien in Bezug auf
Materialien, Formate und Herstellungstechnologien. Die
geschickten Hände des Handwerkers mit seinem Brennofen
wurden durch eine hochentwickelte Technologie abgelöst.
Heute wie früher verfolgt man jedoch das gleiche Ziel: Eine

The ceramic artists of Manifattura del Duca drew their inspiration from the historical and cultural air of the city of

<strong>della</strong> memoria storica e dell’usura del tempo.
The paving of Piazza Maggore in front of the magnificent Basilica of San Petronio provided the ceramic artists
of Manifattura del Duca with a multitude of ideas and inspirations: the colour, the veining of the stone, the way
the various sizes come together. Plus the allure of history and the wear and tear of time.
Le pavé de Piazza Maggiore, devant la majestueuse basilique de San Petronio, a donné aux maîtres
céramistes de Manifattura del Duca des myriades d’idées et de suggestions : la couleur, les veines de la pierre,
l’association des formats. Sans oublier le charme de la mémoire d’antan et du passage du temps.
Das Pflaster des Piazza Maggiore gegenüber der majestätischen Basilika von San Petronio gab den
