<strong>12A</strong>.1.4 Restricted Range<br />

Restricted range is defined as follows: All terrestrial and freshwater fauna taxa with a range of < 50 000 km 2 ,<br />

all marine fauna with a range of < 100 000 km 2 (for birds, this was based on work by Stattersfield et al. (1)<br />

and updates to this work; for other species it was calculated based on IUCN Red List distribution maps). All<br />

plant taxa found globally at fewer than 10 sites (definition suggested by RBG Kew). For plants, endemism is<br />

also noted; "endemic" in this context means "endemic to Guinea".<br />
