Andrew Rutt
Nato a Londra nel 1965, si è laureato in Fine Art presso il Central
St. Martins e il Goldsmiths College. Dal 2000 lavora dividendosi
tra Roma e Londra. Le sue opere comprendono video, foto e
installazioni. Tra le mostre piu note si ricordano: Exotic Dancers
(1999, solo show, VTO Gallery, Londra); Underwood Audio II (2002,
group show, Underwood/Saatchi Gallery, Londra); Everything Must
Go (2006, group show, VTO Gallery, Londra); A Book in the Back
of Your Head (2007, solo show Galleria Navona 42, Roma) oltre a
diverse partecipazioni a mostre collettive presso la Galleria Sala 1
di Roma. Nella piu recente mostra Nuda verita tenutasi nel 2010
presso la Biblioteca Angelica di Roma, Andew Rutt ha fotografato
i dipendenti della stessa Biblioteca nudi, a contatto con i libri, nel
loro quotidiano ambiente di lavoro. Il modo di lavorare dell’artista
prevede spesso momenti di partecipazione, di interazione con altri
soggetti prima, durante o dopo la realizzazione dell’opera stessa.
Secondo Andrew Rutt “l’artista non e colui che fa cose interessanti,
ma che fa succedere cose interessanti.“
Avelino Sala
Nato a Gijón nel 1972, dopo la laurea in Storia della Critica d’Arte
Contemporanea e visiva presso l’Università di Brighton (Gran
Bretagna), Avelino Sala fonda la rivista Sublime arte + cultura
contemporanea e co-dirige il gruppo curatoriale Commission.
In parallelo porta avanti la sua ricerca artistica soffermandosi
sulle contraddizioni inerenti il ruolo dell’artista nella società
contemporanea. Il suo lavoro l’ha portato ad essere uno degli
artisti più importanti del panorama odierno, interrogando la realtà

Born in London in 1965, he studied Fine Art and Critical Theory at
Central St. Martins and Goldsmiths College in London. Since 2000
he works between Rome and London. His works incorporate videos,
sculptures, photographs and installations. Selected exhibitions
include: Exotic Dancers (1999, VTO Gallery, London); Underwood
Audio II (2002, Underwood Gallery, London); Everything Must Go
(2006, VTO Gallery , London); A Book in the Back of Your Head
(2007 Gallery Navona 42, Rome) as well as several participations
in group exhibitions at Galleries in London and Rome. In his recent
exhibition ‘Naked Truth’ (2010) at the 17 Century Biblioteca Angelica
in Rome, the oldest public library in Italy, he included photographs
of the employees of the library nude, in contact with books from
their daily working environment. This relational approach to art has
always been a constant.
According to Andrew Rutt “the artist is not only someone who makes
interesting things, but who also makes interesting things happen.“
Born in Gijón in 1972, Sala is the editor-in-chief of the periodical
“Sublime arte + cultura contemporanea”, and co-director of the
curatorial group Commission. For his work he is considered one
of the most important artists in the current art scene, questioning
cultural and social reality from a late romantic perspective. His
work has been shown in various national and international group
