Per vederla e godere di un
inedito panorama su Londra,
si ha tempo solo fi no
alla fi ne dell’anno.
Installata sul tetto di
Soutbank Centre, è una
casa-rifugio, progettata da
David Kohn Architects
con Fiona Banner. L’iniziativa
temporanea per il
2012 è a cura di Living
Architecture e Artangel. È
anche possibile pernottare
una notte. Ma non bisogna
dimenticare di rifl ettere e
lasciare una testimonianza
sull’esperienza vissuta. /
To see it and enjoy an
unusual view of London, you
only have until the end of
the year.
Installed on a roof of the
Southbank Centre, it is a
houseboat-retreat, designed
by David Kohn Architects
with Fiona Banner. The
temporary initiative for
2012 is a collaboration
between Living Architecture
and Artangel. It can also be
booked for one night. But we
must not forget to reflect and
leave a testimony on what
we have experienced.

San Marco l’imperatrice
d’Austria Elisabetta di
Wittelsbach. L’amatissima
“Sissi”, Principessa di
Baviera, domina come allora
la Sala delle udienze degli
Appartamenti Imperiali
d’Austria al Palazzo Reale
di Venia, ora Museo Correr.
È una delle nove stanze a lei
riservate nella dimora che
la ospitò nel 1816 e nelle
visite a seguire, restituite
all’antico splendore con un
restauro minuzioso. / From

the Empress of Austria
Elisabeth of Wittelsbach comes
once again to look out on Saint
Mark's Basin. Th e much-loved
“Sissi”, Princess of Bavaria,
dominates as she did then the
Audition Hall of the Austrian
Imperial Apartments at the
Palazzo Reale in Venice, now
the Correr Museum. It is one
of the nine rooms reserved for
her in the palace where she
lived in 1816 and during later
visits, restored to its ancient
splendour with an extremely
detailed restoration.

designer e artisti hanno vicendevolmente
superato i confi ni
fra arte e design, contribuendo
alla creazione della cultura

publisher Spiegel of Hamburg
can no longer have the lysergic
pleasure of diving into the
swimming pool designed by
the visionary Danish designer
Verner Panton in 1969, because
it was destroyed by a fi re. Photographs
remain and, together
with numerous other works, they
document in the exhibition at
Vitra Design Museum (until
3.02.2013) how between the
1950s and the 1970s designers
and artists reciprocally crossed
the borders between art and
design, combining to create Pop
culture.
