All’ interno dell’ ovulo si sviluppa un’unica cellula madre<br />
delle megaspore, che alla fine si divide meioticamente dando<br />
origine a 4 megaspore, 3 delle quali degenerano. La quarta<br />
sviluppa un gametofito femminile che, a maturità, è una<br />
struttura a 7 cellule e 8 nuclei, nota come sacco embrionale. <strong>Il</strong><br />
granulo pollinico germina sullo stimma producendo un tubetto<br />
pollinico che cresce verso il basso nello stilo e nell’ovario ed<br />
entra nell’ovulo attraverso il micropilo.
