a tamsulosina nel controllare i LUTS. Si è inoltre dimostrata
superiore a tamsulosina nel migliorare contemporaneamente i
tre sintomi più fastidiosi (svuotamento incompleto, frequenza e
nicturia). È stato inoltre evidenziato il perdurare della sua efficacia
anche a lungo termine con una buona tollerabilità da parte

collaterali a carico dell’apparato cardiovascolare sono risultati
essere trascurabili. L’eiaculazione retrograda, pur essendo frequente,
non sembra rappresentare un effetto collaterale significativo.
Tale risultato può essere giustificato dall’alta incidenza
di alterazioni nella sfera sessuale della popolazione target di
silodosina.
• Silodosina ha dimostrato maggiore uroselettività per i recettori adrenergici α1a rispetto a α1b e α1d in studi di
legame e funzionali
• Silodosina ha un’efficacia almeno uguale a quella di tamsulosina e ha dimostrato una significativa superiorità in
presenza di sintomatologia con svuotamento incompleto, frequenza minzionale e nicturia
• Grazie alla sua elevata uroselettività, gli effetti collaterali a livello dell’apparato cardiovascolare sono risultati
minimi
• Il più comune effetto collaterale è l’eiaculazione retrograda, che è rapidamente reversibile al momento della
sospensione del trattamento e non rappresenta comunque un problema di sicurezza
• I pazienti con LUTS hanno già un’elevata prevalenza di disfunzioni sessuali, come riduzione della libido e alterazioni
dell’eiaculazione, anche senza assumere alcun trattamento
