la musica di tchaikovsky rivoluzionaria, la coreografia insulsa, l’allestimento non appropriato
e gli interpreti inadeguati, tanto che il balletto fu tolto dalle scene dopo solo poche
repliche.

The première of Swan Lake was not favourably received by the public, who considered
Tchaikovsky’s music revolutionary, the choreography insipid, the staging inappropriate and
the dancers inadequate, and the ballet was taken off after only a few performances.

Dopo l’insuccesso della Prima, il 27 gennaio 1895, al teatro Mariinskij di San Pietroburgo,
va in scena una nuova versione totalmente rinnovata dell’opera: il successo è strepitoso.
Interpreti di quella storica rappresentazione furono Pierina legnani (che introdusse 32
fouettés nella variazione del Cigno Nero), Pavel Gerdt e Alexei Bulgakov.

After the failure of the Première, on 27t h January 1895 a totally new version of the work was
put on at the Mariinsky Theatre in St. Petersburg to resounding success. The dancers in this
historic performance were Pierina Legnani (who introduced 32 fouettés into the variation of
the black swan), Pavel Gerdt and Alexei Bulgakov.

che ha conquistato tutto il mondo nel 2011: Black Swan. ad interpretare
Cigno Bianco e Cigno Nero una strepitosa Natalie Portman: per lei
più di 6 mesi di preparazione fisica, ore e ore di balletto e quasi 10 kg
persi per entrare nel personaggio. Fatiche che sono state premiate da un
Oscar come migliore attrice.

BLaCk swan!
Swan Lake is the theme of the film Black Swan directed by darren Aronofsky
which was a worldwide success in 2011. The White Swan and Black Swan
were interpreted by a sensational natalie Portman: over 6 months of physical
preparation, hours and hours of ballet and almost 10 kg lost in order to play
the part, efforts which were rewarded by an Oscar for the best actress.
