affascinata da leggende e misteri? Praga non ti deluderà neanche in quello; sono infatti tantissime le storie che nel corso dei
secoli hanno contribuito a colorare di mistero questa città. Prima tra tutte quella legata al Golem, un mostro generato
dall’argilla che si trova sulle rive della Moldava. Il Golem, che aveva sulla fronte la parola “emet” (verità), era stato creato per
aiutare e proteggere la popolazione del Ghetto ebraico. Col tempo il mostro si fece sempre più grande e violento e cominciò
a spargere il terrore. al rabbino che lo aveva creato venne promesso che la violenza contro gli ebrei sarebbe cessata se il
Golem fosse stato distrutto. eliminando la prima lettera dalla parola “emet”, facendola così diventare “met” (morte), venne
tolta la vita al Golem. Secondo la leggenda, il mostro in argilla vigila ancora oggi su Praga.

Are you fascinated by legends and mysteries? Prague will not disappoint you; all sorts of stories over the centuries have contributed to
creating an atmosphere of mystery in this city, fi rst and foremost the story of Golem, a monster created using the clay from the banks of
thevltava river. According to the legend, the Golem, who had the word “emet” (truth) written on its forehead, helped and protected the
Jews living in the Ghetto. Over time the monster became bigger and bigger and increasingly violent, and began to spread terror. The
rabbi who had created it was promised that the persecution of the Jews would stop if the Golem were destroyed. eliminating the fi rst
letter from the word “emet”, which became “met” (death), the Golem was “deactivated”. According to the legend, the clay monster may
still keep watch over Prague.

Se c’è qualcosa o qualcuno che “butteresti dalla torre” a Praga avrai
l’imbarazzo della scelta. la capitale ceca, infatti, è chiamata anche la città
delle “cento torri”; un attributo che risale ormai a circa un secolo fa e
che oggi non è più attuale visto che le torri sono ormai oltre 500,
diversissime tra loro per stile e architettura. le più famose sono la torre
del Municipio, quella delle Ceneri, quella su Ponte Carlo, le torri della
basilica di San Giorgio e della cattedrale di San Vito.

for choice. The Czech capital is also called the city of the “one hundred towers”,
an attribute that goes back roughly one century but which today is no longer
accurate as there are now over 500 towers in a huge range of different styles and
architecture. The most famous are the tower of the Town Hall, the Powder Tower,
the tower on Charles Bridge, the towers of the basilica of St. George and the
cathedral of St. Vito.
