È questa una delle aree più belle e complete per una vacanza sulle Dolomiti.
La Valle del Biois è un’arena sciistica di ben 100 chilometri che si stende tra Falcade,
Passo San Pellegrino, Moena e Bellamonte. Il contorno paesaggistico è da favola:
a sud Pale di San Martino e Focobon, verso nord Marmolada e Cime d’Auta,
ad est il gruppo del Civetta, sullo sfondo il Monte Pelmo. Siamo nel cuore delle
Dolomiti, versante veneto della Ski Area Trevalli: 27 impianti di risalita e una rete di
innevamento programmato, tra le migliori d’Europa, capace di coprire il 100%dei
percorsi; estremamente variegata l’offerta delle piste con 29 blu, 18 rosse, 7 nere.
La Ski Area Tre Valli è certificata dal marchio Piste Azzurre, ovvero le piste scelte
dalla nazionale italiana di sci alpino per gli allenamenti in vista delle gare di Coppa
del Mondo. Il comprensorio è anche parte del Dolomiti Superski e dei suoi 1.200
km di piste: un solo skipass, valido per l’intera giornata, per 12 zone sciistiche tra
le più famose al mondo.
La Conca Agordina è all’insegna di quiete e contatto con la natura. A Forcella Aurine,
nei pressi di Gosaldo, gli appassionati di sci alpino e snowboard trovano piste di
media difficoltà, aperte anche in notturna. Itinerari interessanti per lo scialpinismo
nella zona del Passo Duran, sotto le pareti sud dell’Agner a Frassenè e Gosaldo,
sull’altopiano delle Pale di S. Martino, in Val Corpassa e in Val Civetta, sul percorso
della celeberrima “Trans Civetta”.
SCI DI FONDO E NON SOLO
Vasta la scelta per gli appassionati dello sci di fondo: nella Valle del Biois ci sono una
serie di anelli di varia difficoltà, sempre coperti di soffice neve grazie all’innevamento
programmato. Falcade offre un tracciato di 8 km con anelli intermedi di varie
difficoltà adatti sia ai principianti che agli esperti; 2 km sono inoltre illuminati per
sciare anche in notturna. La Scuola di Sci Nordico Falcade è a disposizione tutta
la stagione e vi è inoltre la possibilità di noleggiare l’attrezzatura necessaria per lo
sci. In Valle di Gares vi sono 5 km di piste di diversa difficoltà omologati dalla F.I.S.I.
per manifestazioni sciistiche a carattere nazionale. Due percorsi di 3 e 5 km, neve
permettendo, anche a Forcella Aurine ed altri 5 km di anelli attraversano il paese di
La Valle Agordina, in parte illuminati per sciare anche sotto le stelle.
SNOWBOARD
Un modernissimo Snowpark vive a Falcade, in località Le Buse, all’arrivo della
prima seggiovia. L’area, interamente dedicata ai giovani appassionati di evoluzioni
acrobatiche sulla tavola, è raggiungibile anche senza sci, perché lo spettacolo è
anche solo da guardare!
A LEZIONE SULLA NEVE
Due sono le scuole sci e snowboard di Falcade, con 40 maestri a disposizione anche
per lezioni di telemark, carving e agonismo. Per i bambini vi sono corsi ad hoc nei
due campi scuola del comprensorio, con maestri preparati per le loro esigenze, così
come corsi specifici sono organizzati per i portatori di handicap. Ed ancora, Ski Tour
accompagnati come: Tour delle emozioni, della Grande Guerra, Sella Ronda… per
indimenticabili giornate a spasso sulle Dolomiti. A Falcade è attivo dal 1990 lo Ski
College, con corsi di studio ad indirizzo economico ed alberghiero legati all’attività
sportiva al quale accedono studenti-atleti provenienti da ogni parte d’Italia; la
struttura è inserita nel più ampio contesto dell’Istituto Professionale Alberghiero di
Stato apprezzato a livello nazionale.
OLTRE LO SCI
Camminate con le ciaspe, arrampicata su ghiaccio, sleddog, passeggiate su slitta
trainata dai cavalli, carving, telemark, uscite in motoslitta, pattinaggio su ghiaccio.
E ancora: après ski, musica dal vivo nei rifugi, spettacoli, fiaccolate sulla neve e
centri benessere per trascorrere al meglio la vostra vacanza anche quando scende
la notte. Forti emozioni per tutta la famiglia al Rifugio Baita Flora Alpina, verso il
Passo San Pellegrino, con lo snow tubing: qui bambini ed adulti possono lanciarsi
su gommoni colorati lungo una pista aperta e illuminata anche di sera.
PER I ROMANTICI
La Ski Area Trevalli è anche chiamata lo Skitour delle Emozioni, con la pista degli
innamorati: 12 km sugli sci, da Col Margherita a Falcade, per innamorarsi sulla
neve. Lungo il tragitto si incontrano i famosi Tabià, ovvero le tipiche costruzioni di
legno, ed è possibile sostare nei numerosi chalet e ski bar per una piacevole pausa
anche fino a tarda sera, godendo lo spettacolo ineguagliabile dei tramonti dolomitici.

This is one of the most beautiful places in the Dolomites to spend a holiday, with
something for everyone. The Val Biois is a ski area measuring over 100 kilometres,
spread out between Falcade, the San Pellegrino Pass, Moena and Bellamonte. The
surrounding landscape is truly enchanting: to the south, the Pale di San Martino and
Focobon peaks; to the north, the Marmolada and the Cime d’Auta; to the east, the
Civetta Group, and in the background, Monte Pelmo. This is the very heart of the
Dolomites, the Veneto side of the Tre Valli Ski area: 27 ski lifts and one of the best
artificial snow systems in Europe, able to cover 100% of the slopes. The area boasts
29 blue slopes, 18 red slopes and 7 black slopes, so there is something to suit every
skier. The Tre Valli Ski Area bears the trademark Piste Azzurre, indicating that the slopes

have been selected by the Italian national downhill skiing team to train on for the World
Cup races. The area forms part of the Dolomiti Superski complex, which offers a total
of 1200 km of slopes and trails, and one full-day skipass will allow you to ski in 12
of the most famous ski areas in the world. The Conca Agordina is perfect for those
seeking peace and quiet and contact with nature. At Forcella Aurine, near Gosaldo,
downhill skiing and snowboard fans will find medium-difficulty slopes, open also at
night; while ski mountaineering enthusiasts can tackle some interesting itineraries in
the Duran Pass area, under the south walls of the Agner at Frassenè and Gosaldo, on
the upland plateau of the Pale di S. Martino, in Val Corpassa and in Val Civetta, on the
route of the famous “Trans Civetta”.
CROSS COUNTRY SKIING
Cross-country skiers really will be spoilt for choice here: in the Biois Valley there are
a series of round-trip trails on which soft snow is always guaranteed thanks to the
artificial snow cover systems. Falcade offers an 8 km trail with intermediate rings of
varying difficulty, suitable for both beginners and experts; a 2 km stretch is floodlit so
you can ski after dark. The Falcade Cross-Country Ski School is open all year round,
and also offers equipment hire services. In the Gares Valley there 5 km of trails of varying
difficulty, authorised by the FISI to host national-level cross-country skiing events. Snow
conditions permitting, you will also find two routes (3 km and 5 km) at Forcella Aurine,
while a further 5 km of circular trails run through the village of La Valle Agordina, with
lighting along some stretches allowing you to ski beneath the stars.
SNOWBOARDING
An extremely modern snowpark awaits you in Falcade, at Le Buse, at the arrival
station of the first chair lift. The area, set aside specially for snowboarding fans, can
also be reached without skis, because the exciting, acrobatic moves make this a great
spectator sport too!
LESSONS ON THE SNOW
There are two ski and snowboard schools in Falcade, with 40 instructors on hand
who also provide training in telemark, carving and competition winter sports. Special
children’s courses are on offer in the two school camps in the ski complex, with
expert instructors trained for the purpose. Specially-designed courses for people with
disabilities are also organised. 1990 saw the opening in Falcade of the Ski College,
which offers business organisation courses geared towards the world of sport and is
attended by students-athletes from all over Italy. And then there are the guided Ski
Tours, such as the Emotions Tour, the Great War Tour, the Sella Ronda… all designed
to make your trip to the Dolomites truly unforgettable.
MORE THAN JUST SKIING
During the day there is plenty for holidaymakers to enjoy: walks on ciaspe snow-shoes,
ice-climbing, sleddog, horse-drawn sleigh trips, carving, telemark, motorized sledging
trips, ice-skating; and after nightfall the fun continues with après ski events, live music
in the mountain refuges, shows, torchlight outings on the snow and wellness centres.
Excitement is guaranteed for the whole family at the Baita Flora Alpina Refuge, towards
the San Pellegrino Pass, where children and grown-ups can try their hand at snow
tubing, racing down a slope - floodlit after dark - in colourful dinghies.

The Tre Valli Ski Area is also known as the Emotions Ski Tour, with a special “lovers’
slope”: 12 km on skis, from Col Margherita to Falcade, along which you can fall in
love with your partner all over again on the snow. Along the way you can admire the
famous tabià, or typical wooden haysheds; or you might like to stop off at one of the
numerous chalets and ski bars for a pleasant rest, perhaps on into the evening, as
you enjoy the unparalleled spectacle of sunset over the Dolomites.
Das ist eine der schönsten und angebotsreichsten Regionen für einen Urlaub in den
Dolomiten. Das Tal Valle del Biois ist ein Schigebiet mit 100 km Pisten, das sich zwischen
Falcade, dem San Pellegrino Pass, Moena und Bellamente ausbreitet. Die Landschaft
ist märchenhaft: im Süden die Berge Pale di San Martino und Focobon, im Norden die
Marmolada und der Cime d’Auta, im Osten die Civetta Gruppe und dahinter der Monte
Pelmo. Wir befinden uns im Herzen der Dolomiten im venetischen Raum des Schigebiets
Ski Area Trevalli: 27 Lifte und ein zu 100 % flächendeckendes Beschneiungssystem,
das eines der effizientesten in ganz Europa ist. Dementsprechend reich ist natürlich
auch das Angebot an Pisten: 29 blaue, 18 rote und 7 schwarze. Dem Gebiet Ski Area
Tre Valli wurde die Auszeichnung „Piste Azzurre“ verliehen, das heißt, hier befinden sich
Pisten, auf denen die italienische Nationalmannschaft für den Schiweltcup trainiert. Das
Schigebiet gehört auch zum Dolomiti Superski und seinen 1.200 km Pisten: ein einziger
Schipass, den ganzen Tag gültig, für 12 der weltbekanntesten Schiregionen. Im Becken
von Agordo (Conca Agordina) herrschen Stille, Ruhe und Natur. Auf dem Sattel Forcella
Aurine, nahe der Ortschaft Gosaldo, finden Schifahrer und Snowboarder mittelschwierige
Pisten, die auch nachts geöffnet sind; interessante Routen für Schitouren gibt es im
Gebiet Duran Pass, unter der Südwand des Monte Agner in Frassenè und Gosaldo,
auf der Hochebene des Pale di S. Martino, im Corpassa Tal und Civetta Tal und längs
der berühmten Rennstrecke „Trans Civetta“.
LANGLAUF UND NICHT NUR
Langläufer haben hier nur die Qual der Wahl: im Biois Tal gibt es eine Reihe von Loipen,
die dank der Beschneiungsanlagen den ganzen Winter über in perfektem Zustand sind.
Falcade bietet 8 km unterschiedlich schwierige Loipen für Anfänger und Fortgeschrittene;
davon sind 2 km auch als Nachtloipe in Betrieb. Die Langlaufschule Falcade ist die ganze
Saison geöffnet, und dort kann man sich auch die notwendige Ausrüstung ausleihen.
Im Gares Tal findet man 5 km unterschiedlich schwierige Loipen, die vom nationalen
Langlaufverein F.I.S.I. anerkannt sind und auf denen unter anderem nationale Rennen
ausgetragen werden. Eine 3 km und eine 5 km Loipe gibt es auch auf dem Aurine Sattel
und eine weitere 5 km lange führt durch die Ortschaft La Valle Agordina; ein Abschnitt
letzterer verwandelt sich abends in eine Nachtloipe ein unvergessliches Erlebnis unter
dem Sternenhimmel.
SNOWBOARD
Mit einem ultramodernen Snowpark wartet Falcade auf, und zwar in Le Buse bei der
Bergstation des ersten Sessellifts. Das Areal ist ausschließlich für Snowboarder, die
hier akrobatischen Sprünge und steht den Zuschauern nichts im Weg, sich das mal
anzuschauen!
LEKTIONEN IM SCHNEE
In Falcade gibt es zwei Schi- und Snowboardschulen mit 40 Lehrern, die ebenso
Lektionen für Telemark, Carving und Rennunterricht erteilen. Für Kinder werden mit
speziell ausgebildeten Lehrern Kurse auf der Schischulwiese organisiert, und auch
für Behinderte gibt es ein spezifisches Kursangebot. Und dann noch: Ski Touren in
Begleitung eines Guides, wie die „Tour delle emozioni“, die Tour des Ersten Weltkriegs,
Sella Ronda .... für unvergessliche Tage in den Dolomiten. In der Ortschaft Falcade gibt es
seit 1990 das Ski College, mit den Studienrichtungen Handel und Tourismus kombiniert
mit Sport, und die Schüler kommen aus ganz Italien; das Institut gehört zur Kategorie
der Italienischen Hotelfachschulen und ist in ganz Italien bekannt.
NICHT NUR SCHILAUF
Schneeschuhwanderungen, Eisklettern, Hundeschlittenfahrten, Ausflüge mit dem
Pferdeschlitten, Carving, Telemark, Fahrten mit dem Motorschlitten, Eislauf. Außerdem
noch: Wellnesszentren, Après ski, Livemusik in den Berghütten, Fackelläufe und
Schauspiele sorgen dafür, dass Ihr Urlaub auch nach Sonnenuntergang zu einem
unvergesslichen Erlebnis wird. Etwas ganz Besonderes für Groß und Klein gibt es bei
der Hütte Baita Flora Alpina (Richtung San Pellegrino Pass): Snow tubing, bei dem
man in bunten Schlauchbooten über die auch nachts beleuchtete Piste hinunter flitzt.

FÜR ROMANTIKER
Im Schigebiet Trevalli gibt es die „Piste der Verliebten“, und dort kann man die “Tour
delle emozioni” unternehmen: 12 km von Col Margherita nach Falcade, um sich in einer
herrlichen Winterlandschaft zu verlieben. Man kommt dabei an vielen der berühmten
„Tabià“ (charakteristischen Holzbauten) vorbei und kann in einem der zahlreichen Chalets
und Schibars eine Pause einlegen, vielleicht sogar bis spat abends, wenn man einen der
unvergesslichen Sonnenuntergänge in den Dolomiten erleben möchte.

ESTATE / SUMMER / SOMMER
Le vacanze estive in Conca Agordina e Val Biois sono all’insegna di natura,
cultura e tradizione. La Valle del Biois, conosciuta anche come la “Valle con
i santi alle finestre” per le tantissime immagini votive affrescate sugli edifici
della zona, comprende le località di: Cencenighe, che accoglie il visitatore
all’imbocco della valle; Vallada Agordina, ove sorge l’antica chiesa di S. Simon;
Canale d’Agordo, paese natale di Papa Luciani e, naturalmente, la bellissima
e rinomata Falcade. La vasta zona pianeggiante che dal centro del paese si
estende sino a Caviola è la grande ricchezza di Falcade, specialmente d’estate
quando si ricopre di verde e diventa teatro di giochi, passeggiate, incontri. Di
nuova costruzione il Palafalcade che ospita spettacoli, concerti e manifestazioni
di qualità. A San Tomaso Agordino, a 15 km da Falcade, si trova inoltre un
interessante osservatorio astronomico dove è possibile conoscere stelle, pianeti
e costellazioni grazie a proiezioni e visite guidate.
Agordo è circondato da splendide vette dolomitiche: i monti Tamer e Agnèr,
le Pale di S. Lucano, il gruppo della Moiazza con il monte Framont, i Monti del
Sole e, più a nord, Civetta e Marmolada. Fin dal secolo scorso la cittadina è
centro dell’alpinismo internazionale per la sua vicinanza alle pareti del Civetta,
regno del 6° grado, ed a quelle del monte Agner, che con i 1600 metri della
sua parete nord è la più lunga verticale delle Dolomiti. Numerosi gli spunti di
visita: i portici di piazza della Libertà, la chiesa Arcidiaconale e Villa Crotta de’
Manzoni, la più settentrionale delle ville venete, che ospita nelle sue antiche
scuderie il Museo dell’occhiale e dell’ottica con 1800 pezzi di varie epoche.
Ed ancora: Taibon Agordino e Voltago Agordino con la frazione di Frassené,
aperta sul poderoso Monte Agner e base di partenza per magnifiche escursioni,
Rivamonte Agordino, La Valle Agordina e Gosaldo, con Forcella Aurine.
PER I BAMBINI
Sulla Piana di Falcade è stato creato un ampio ed attrezzato parco divertimenti
che aspetta tutti i bimbi per correre, saltare, incontrarsi con gli amici e vivere
da protagonisti storie fantastiche. Strutture gonfiabili per i più piccini, tappeti
elastici, campi di pallavolo, area per pic-nic, pesca sportiva.
PASSEGGIATE E RELAX
Per chi ama camminare nel bosco da Falcade sono facilmente raggiungibili
la Valle del Focobon e la Valfredda, dalla quale proseguire per Forcella Forca
Rossa, con memorabile punto panoramico a 2490 m, e la possibilità di spingersi
sino a Malga Ciapela, ai piedi della Marmolada. Di particolare rilevanza storica
il percorso escursionistico “Via H. W. Tilman” sui sentieri segnati dai partigiani
durante la Seconda Guerra Mondiale, mentre a Bastiani, frazione di Cencenighe,
si snoda un percorso attraverso le antiche “Ial”, grandi spazi un tempo usati per
le carbonaie. Per i meno esperti molto suggestive sono la camminata tra i tabià
della Valfredda, la valle dei pascoli di Falcade; quelle alle cascate della Val di
Gares o all’accogliente Malga Stia. Le Guide Alpine XMountain in collaborazione
con la Scuola di Sci e Snowboard Equipe organizzano settimanalmente attività
legate alla montagna e una serie di ferrate diversificate per livello ed età. Intorno
ad Agordo sono numerose le opportunità di effettuare camminate a stretto
contatto con la natura: la silenziosa e selvaggia Valle di San Lucano, i prati
fioriti di La Valle Agordina, le tranquille frazioni attorno ad Agordo e Gosaldo, i
sentieri dei Minatori di Rivamonte Agordino. Altre escursioni: la mulattiera del
monte Célo, il tratto Agordino dell’Alta Via n. 1, e ancora, verso sud, sui Monti
del Sole nell’area del Parco Nazionale Dolomiti Bellunesi.

Agli gli appassionati di mountain bike la Valle del Biois offre affascinanti
itinerari che si inoltrano nei boschi, seguendo il corso dei ruscelli,
raggiungendo punti panoramici di rara bellezza sino alle mete più ardite
dei rifugi in quota, anche con uscite di gruppo con guida. Per chi invece
preferisce pedalate più soft, per tutta la famiglia, sono ideali i due km di
percorso sulla Piana di Falcade, parte della nuova pista ciclabile che si
snoda lungo tutta la Valle. Numerosi i percorsi per le due ruote anche
nella Conca Agordina, da organizzare per proprio conto o accompagnati
da guide esperte.
ARRAMPICATE ED ESCURSIONI
Paesaggi incontaminati si possono ammirare lungo i percorsi dell’Alta Via
n. 2 “delle Leggende”, da Bressanone a Feltre, e dell’Alta Via n. 2 “Europa”,
lungo il circuito Innsbruck-Bressanone-Feltre. Per la Conca Agordina
segnaliamo: l’Alta Via n. 1 Classica, le ferrate Costantini e Stella Alpina
per esperti; il sentiero naturalistico Miniussi, la visita al Giardino Alpino
del Rifugio Vazzoler; i tantissimi altri itinerari che si snodano nel Gruppo
Agner/Croda Granda e nel Gruppo Moiazza. La locale sezione del C.A.I.
(la prima aperta nelle Alpi Orientali, nel 1868) organizza escursioni con
guide e corsi di roccia, con possibilità di muovere i primi passi presso la
palestra di roccia in località Farenzena. Per gli alpinisti più preparati è da
non perdere la sfida all’impegnativa parete Nord dell’Agner, in Valle di San
Lucano, con il famoso spigolo: 1000 metri di 6° grado. D’estate Falcade
offre splendide escursioni come quella che percorre la Valle del Focobon
partendo dalla frazione di Molino ed arriva al Rifugio G. Volpi al Mulaz (2571
m), uno dei più famosi ed antichi rifugi della Valle del Biois, oppure quella,
molto più agevole, che porta alla bellissima Valfredda (1908 m). Si percorre
prima la strada del Passo San Pellegrino fino al Rifugio Flora Alpina, poi
attraverso un facile sentiero in circa 10 minuti si raggiungono i caratteristici
“casoni” della Valle di Fuchiade, oppure i Rifugi Malga ai Lach (1815 m) e
Malga Bosch Brusà (1867 m), punti tappa dell’Alta Via dei Pastori e punti
di ristoro e di vendita di prodotti tipici di produzione propria. Sempre da
località Valfredda i camminatori più volenterosi possono raggiungere
la Forcella Forca Rossa, punto panoramico a 2.490 m che funge da
collegamento con località Malga Ciapela ai piedi della Marmolada. Per
gli amanti delle ferrate, da Caviola si raggiunge località Colmean e da
qui attraverso il sentiero n. 689 si arriva al Bivacco Papa Giovanni Paolo
I, da dove, superato il bosco, inizia la salita verso l’attacco della ferrata
“Paolin-Piccolin” sul Gruppo delle Cime d’Auta. Più agevole l’escursione
che partendo dalla frazione di Molino porta al Rifugio L. Bottari (1573 m),
dove un sentiero semplice e senza grande dislivello si addentra nella Valle
del Valles fino a raggiungere l’agriturismo Valés Bas (1711 m).
GASTRONOMIA E PRODOTTI TIPICI
La cucina dell’intera area è semplice e genuina, molto apprezzata, da
gustare nei tanti ristoranti tipici. In Valle del Biois selvaggina, schiz,
costicine di maiale, “pastim”, funghi, salame e formaggio nostrani. I primi
piatti: lasagne da fornel, pasta fatta in casa condita con il papavero,
i “casonziei” con le “gamaite” (erbette selvatiche), minestra d’orzo e
canederli. Ottimi i dolci: crostoli, “carfogn”, strudel, torte di mele e di
ricotta. A fine pasto l’immancabile grappa. 11 ristoranti della Valle del
Biois si sono riuniti nel circuito dei Ristoranti del Cuore: accanto a ricette
di gastronomia locale e menù raffinati per le serate più eleganti, le coppie
troveranno anche il “piatto dell’amore”, diverso per ogni stagione. Nelle
malghe e agriturismi della Conca Agordina si possono degustare ed
acquistare i prodotti lattiero caseari che essi stessi producono, oltre ai
prodotti della terra come: funghi, mirtilli, more, fragole di bosco. I piatti
da assaggiare sono molti: polenta e “tocà da boia”, polenta e “pastim”,
polenta e capriolo. Le minestre: come la “minestra da orz”, la “dufa”, i
“papazoi”: gnocchetti di farina bianca cotti nel latte; pietanze insaporite
con erbe spontanee quali ortiche, “bruscandoi”, “sgrisoi”. I dolci, infine,
sono una vera chicca: dai “foi frit” di carnevale (crostoli), ai “bagài”
(ciambelle fritte). Le grappe aromatizzate con i profumi del bosco: ginepro,
pino mugo, kariec non possono che chiudere in bellezza un pranzo, o una
cena, da ricordare.

Summer holidays in Conca Agordina and Val Biois are all about nature,
culture and tradition. The Biois Valley, also known as the “valley with saints
at the windows”, because of the numerous votive frescoes on the local
buildings, includes the villages of Cencenighe, at the entrance to the valley;
Vallada Agordina, with the ancient church of S. Simon; Canale d’Agordo, the
birthplace of Pope John Paul I Albino Luciani; and of course the splendid
Falcade, a well-known tourist resort. The large flat area which stretches
from the centre of the village to Caviola is the most popular part of Falcade,
particularly during the summer, when tourists and locals meet there to play
games and take walks in the greenery. The new Palafalcade venue plays
host to a range of events, including top-quality shows and concerts. In San
Tommaso Agordino, 15 km from Falcade, you can also visit an interesting
astronomical observatory where you can learn more about stars, planets and
constellations with slide shows and guided visits. Agordo is surrounded by a
range of splendid Dolomite peaks: Monte Tamer and Monte Agnèr, the Pale di
S. Lucano, the Moiazza group with Monte Framont, the Monti del Sole and,
further north, the Civetta and the Marmolada. Since the last century Agordo
has been an international mountaineering centre as a result of its proximity
to the rock faces of the Civetta, an Italian 6th grade climb, and to Monte
Agner, the 1600 metre high north face of which is the highest vertical climb
in the Dolomites. There are numerous places of interest to visit: the porticoes
of Piazza della Libertà, the Archdeacon’s Church and Villa de’Manzoni, the
most northerly of the Venetian villas. The former stables of the villa house the
Eyewear Museum, with 1800 pieces from various periods on display. Visitors
to the area might also like to take a look around Taibon Agordino and Voltago
Agordino, with the ward of Frassené, which faces out onto the striking Monte
Agner and is an ideal departure point for some splendid hiking trips; and
then there is Rivamonte, La Valle Agordina and Gosaldo, with Forcella Aurine.
FOR KIDS
On the Falcade Plain children will find a large, well-equipped fun park just
waiting for them, where they can run and jump around, meet up with their
friends and let their imagination run riot on bouncy castles for the younger
kids, trampolines, volleyball courts, picnic areas.
RELAXING WALKS
For those who enjoy a walk in the woods, within easy reach of Falcade lie
the Focobon Valley and the Valfredda, from where you can continue on
to the Forca Rossa Saddle, with a spectacular viewpoint at an altitude of
2490 m; from here you can go on towards Malga Ciapela, at the foot of the
Marmolada. Of particular historical interest is the “Via H. W. Tilman” hiking
route, along the paths marked out by the partisans during World War II,
while from Bastiani, a neighbourhood of Cencenighe, a path starts out which
leads through the ancient “Ial”, large clearings used in the past for charcoal
pits. Less-experienced walkers might like to try the attractive walk amid the
wooden tabià haysheds of the pasturelands of the Valfredda near Falcade,
the route that leads to the waterfalls of the Val di Gares or the walk to the
welcoming Malga Stia. The Xmountain Alpine Guides, in collaboration with the
Equipe Ski and Snowboard School, organise weekly activities linked to the
mountain, as well as trips to tackle vie ferrate equipped routes. Participants
are divided into groups based on level and age. Around Agordo there are

a host of opportunities to walk in close contact with nature: the silent San
Lucano Valley, the fields in bloom of La Valle Agordina, the quiet little villages
around Agordo and Gosaldo, the Miners’ paths in Rivamonte Agordino. Also
interesting are the following: the hike along the mule-track of Monte Célo, the
Agordino stretch of the Alta Via 1 High Altitude Trail, and another southwards
on the Monti del Sole in the Dolomiti Bellunesi National Park.
HORSE-RIDING
Riding fans will find plenty to enjoy at the “Club le Piane” Riding Centre in
Celat di Vallada. The centre organises courses for both beginners and more
experienced riders, as well as guided riding and trekking trips. The latter are
also offered by the riding centres in Frassenè, Voltago and La Valle Agordina.
ON TWO WHEELS
For mountain bike fans, the Val Biois offers a range of attractive routes that
wind their way through wonderful woodland scenery, alongside brooks
and steeply on up to the mountain refuges. Guided group trips can also be
organised. For those who prefer to pedal along an easier route, an ideal option
is the 2km-long cycling trail on the Falcade Plain, part of the new cycle path
which runs right through the Valley. There are also many superb mountain
bike and cycling routes to be found in the Conca Agordina, which can be
tackled alone or with the help of expert guides.
CLIMBING AND HIKING
Pure, unspoilt landscapes can be admired along the High Altitude Trail
number 2, the “Legends” Trail, which runs from Bressanone to Feltre, and
along the European High Altitude Trail number 2, which runs from Innsbruck
through Bressanone to Feltre. A few ideas for visitors to the Conca Agordina
include the following: The Alta Via 1 High Altitude Trail (the Classic Trail); the
Costantini and Stella Alpina equipped mountain routes, for experts only; the
Miniussi nature trail; a visit to the Alpine Garden of the Vazzoler Refuge; and
numerous other routes which run through the Agner/Croda Granda Group and
the Moiazza Group. In Agordo, the local C.A.I. (Italian Alpine Club) section,
the first to be opened in the Eastern Alps in 1868, organises guided hikes and
rock-climbing courses, with the chance to get started on the rock climbing
training wall in Farenzena. More experienced mountaineers should not miss
the challenge of the difficult North Wall of the Agner, in the San Lucano Valley,
with its famous rock spike: 1000 metres, 6th grade. In the summer, there are
a range of superb walking and hiking trips to enjoy in and around Falcade,
such as the one that runs through the Focobon Valley. The route starts out
from the little village of Molino and ends at the G. Volpi Refuge on Monte
Mulaz (2571 m), one of the oldest and best known mountain refuges in the
Biois Valley. Those looking for something less challenging might prefer the
route that leads to the splendid Valfredda (1908 m). The itinerary begins by
going along the road of the San Pellegrino Pass to the Flora Alpina Refuge,
after which an easy path leads, in about 10 minutes, to the characteristic
casoni of the Fuchiade Valleys, or the Malga ai Lach (1815 m) and Malga Bosch
Brusà (1867 m) Refuges. At these refuges, the departure/arrival points for
stages on the Alta Via dei Pastori High Mountain Route, offer refreshments,
as well as the chance to purchase typical dairy products made there. Again
from Valfredda, the more experienced walkers among you can push on as
far as the Forcella Forca Rossa saddle, at an altitude of 2490 m and offering
wonderful views; from here you can reach Malga Ciapela, at the foot of
the Marmolada. Those who prefer to tackle a via ferrata can start out from
Caviola and head for Colmean, from where path no. 689 will take you to the
Papa Giovanni Paolo I Bivouac; from here, the route runs through the wood
before the start of the climb up towards the “Paolin-Piccolin” via ferrata on
the Cime d’Auta Group. An easier walking trip sets out from the little village
of Molino and heads towards the L. Bottari Refuge (1573 m), where a simple,
relatively flat path winds its way into the Valles Valley and on to the Valés Bas
agritourist farm (1711 m).

TYPICAL CUISINE AND FOOD PRODUCTS
The whole area is characterised by deliciously simple, genuine cuisine that
can be enjoyed in any one of the typical restaurants in the area. In the Val
Biois visitors can sample game, schiz cheese, pork ribs, “pastin” (a kind of
sausage), woodland mushrooms, salami and local cheeses. The typical tasty
local first courses include “lasagne da fornel”, home-made pasta seasoned
with poppy seeds, “casonziei” with “gamaite” (wild herbs), barley soup and
canerderli (a kind of savoury dumplings). The excellent local sweets include
crostoli, “carfogn”, strudel and cakes made with apples or ricotta; and to
round off your meal, the ever-popular grappa. Eleven restaurants in the Val
Biois form the “Ristoranti del Cuore” (Love Restaurants”) circuit. In these
restaurants, in addition to traditional local dishes and sophisticated menus

for a classy evening out, couples will also find the speciality “lovers’ dish”,
which varies from season to season. In the malghe and agritourist farms of
the Conca Agordina, meanwhile, visitors can taste and purchase the dairy
products made directly on the premises, as well as sampling local produce
such as mushrooms, bilberries, blackberries and woodland strawberries. The
traditional cuisine of the Agordino area includes a range of delicious dishes:
polenta with “toca da boia” sauce, pastin (a kind of raw spiced sausage
meat) or roe deer meat; or soups such as “menestra da orz” (barley soup)
and “dufa”, or “papazoi” (small gnocchi made with flour cooked in milk), as
well as a number of other dishes seasoned with wild local herbs and plants
such as nettles, “bruscandoi” or “sgrisoi”. Many delicious sweets can also
be sampled, such as “foi frit” or “crostoli” (typically eaten during Carnival), or
“bagài” (a kind of fried doughnut). And finally, you can round off a fine lunch
or dinner with one of the fantastic local varieties of grappa, flavoured with
juniper berries, mugo pine and kariec.

der vielen Fresken mit religiösen Figuren an den Häuserfassaden auch unter
dem Namen “das Tal mit den Heiligen an den Fenstern” bekannt ist, umfasst
folgende Ortschaften: Cencenighe, das Tor ins Valle del Biois; Vallada Agordina
mit der antiken Kirche des Hl. Simon; Canale d’Agordo, wo Papst Johannes
Paul I (Papa Luciani) geboren wurde, und den bekannten und renommierten
Urlaubsort Falcade. Das große ebene Gebiet vom Ortszentrum in Falcade
bis nach Caviola ist im Sommer die leuchtend grüne Bühne für Spiele
und erholsame Spaziergänge. Ganz neu ist die Halle „Palafalcade“, in der
Aufführungen, Konzerte und wichtige Veranstaltungen abgehalten werden.
In der Ortschaft San Tomaso Agordino, 15 km von Falcade entfernt, gibt
es des Weiteren eine interessante Sternwarte, in der man bei Projektionen
und Führungen Sterne, Planeten und Konstellationen kennen lernt. Rund
um die Ortschaft Agordo erheben sich herrliche Dolomitengipfel: die
Gruppe Tamer und Agnèr, die Pale di S. Lucano, die Moiazza Gruppe mit
dem Monte Framont, die Monti del Sole und, weiter nördlich, der Monte
Civetta und die Marmolada. Agordo ist seit Anfang letzten Jahrhunderts ein
internationales Alpinistikzentrum, denn hier kommt man zu den Felswänden
des Monte Civetta (Grad 6) und des Monte Agner, dessen 1.600 m hohe
Nordwand die höchste Steilwand in den Dolomiten ist. Agordo wartet mit
vielen Sehenswürdigkeiten auf: die Laubengänge auf der Piazza della
Libertà, die Pfarrkirche und die Villa de’Manzoni, die nördlichste Venetische
Villa. In den ehemaligen Stallungen ist ein hochinteressantes Brillenmuseum
mit mehr als 1.800 Exponaten aus unterschiedlichen Epochen eingerichtet.
Und dann noch: die Gemeinden Taibon Agordino und Voltago Agordino mit
dem Ortsteil Frassené, der unter dem mächtigen Monte Agner schlummert
und Startpunkt wunderschöner Wanderungen ist. Wirklich reizend sind
auch die Ortschaften Rivamonte, La Valle Agordina und Gosaldo mit dem
Aurine Sattel.
FÜR KINDER
Auf der Ebene von Falcade wurde ein großes Spielareal geschaffen. Dort
können sich die Kinder so richtig austoben, vergnügen und mit Freunden
unbeschwerte und unvergessliche Stunden verbringen. Hüpfburgen,
Trampoline, Volleyballplätze, Picknickzonen.
SPAZIERGÄNGE UND RELAX
Wer gerne Waldspaziergänge unternimmt, erreicht von Falcade aus in Kürze
das Valle del Focobon und das Valfredda und kann von dort zum Forca
Rossa - Sattel wandern, einem einmaligen Aussichtspunkt auf 2.490 m. Von
dieser Scharte führt dann ein Weg nach Malga Ciapela, einer Alm am Fuß der
Marmolada. Aus geschichtlicher Sicht hochinteressant ist der Wanderweg
„Via H. W. Tilman“, der jenen Pfaden entlang führt, die von den Partisanen
während des Zweiten Weltkriegs genutzt wurden. In Bastiani, einem Ortsteil
von Cencenighe, gibt es die Route der Ial, das sind Lichtungen, auf denen
einst Kohlenmeiler standen. Nicht so erfahrenen Wanderern empfehlen
wird einen Spaziergang zu den Tabià (Holzbauten) im Valfredda, dem Almtal
von Falcade; oder zum Wasserfall im Val di Gares oder auf die gemütliche
Stia Alm. Die Alpineguides XMountain organisieren in Zusammenarbeit
mit der Schi- und Snowboardschule Equipe jede Woche Aktivitäten, die
mit der Bergwelt zu tun haben, und auch eine Reihe von Kletterkursen für
unterschiedliche Leistungs- und Altergruppen. In der Gegend um Agordo
gibt es unzählige Wege für einen Spaziergang durch die Natur: im stillen
San Lucano Tal, über die Blumenwiesen um La Valle Agordina, durch die
verschlafenen Dörfer in der Nähe von Agordo und Gosaldo oder auf den
Bergmannswegen in Rivamonte. Sehr interessant sind auch: eine Wanderung

entlang dem antiken Karrenpfad auf den Monte Célo, der „agordinische“
Abschnitt des Höhenwegs Nr. 1 und, gegen Süden eine Wanderung auf die
Gruppe Monti del Sole im Nationalpark der Bellunesischen Dolomiten.
REITEN
Pferdeliebhaber können sich an das Reitzentrum „Club le Piane“ in Celat
di Vallada wenden. Dort gibt es Kurse für Anfänger und Fortgeschrittene,
Trekkingtouren und Ausritte in Begleitung. Aber auch in den Reitställen in
Frassenè, Voltago und La Valle Agordina werden Trekkingtouren und Ausritte
organisiert.
FAHRRAD UND MOUNTAINBIKE
Für Mountainbike Fans wartet die Region Valle del Biois mit faszinierenden
Routen auf, die durch Wälder, Bächen entlang, zu einmaligen Aussichtspunkten
und sogar bis zu den Berghütten im Hochgebirge führen. Es werden auch
Gruppentouren in Begleitung eines Bergführers organisiert. Wer’s lieber
ein bisschen ruhiger angeht oder einen Radausflug mit der ganzen Familie
unternehmen will, für den ist die 2 km lange Strecke auf der Ebene von Falcade
ideal. Auch im Gebiet Conca Agordina gibt es viele Touren, die man alleine
oder in Begleitung erfahrener Guides unternehmen kann.
FELSKLETTERN UND WANDERUNGEN
Einmalige Erlebnisse bescheren Wanderungen auf dem Dolomitenhöhenweg
2, dem Höhenweg der Legenden, der von Brixen nach Feltre führt, oder
auf dem Europahöhenweg 2, der Route Innsbruck-Brixen-Feltre. Im Gebiet
Conca Agordina empfehlen wir: den klassischen Dolomitenhöhenweg Nr.1, die
Felssteige Costantini und Stella Alpina (für erfahrene Bergsteiger), den Naturweg
Miniussi, den Alpengarten bei der Vazzoler Hütte und viele andere Routen in
der Agner/Croda Granda Gruppe und in der Moiazza Gruppe. Die heimische
Alpenvereinsgruppe (1868 gegründet und somit die älteste in den Ostalpen)
organisiert Wanderungen in Begleitung von Bergführern und Kletterkurse auf
dem Kletterfelsen in Farenzena. Ein Paradies für erfahrene Alpinisten ist die
schwierige Nordwand des Monte Agner im San Lucano Tal: 1000 Meter, Grad
6. Im Sommer kann man in Falcade herrliche Wanderungen unternehmen, so
wie die durch das Focobon Tal. Start ist in der Ortschaft Molino und das Ziel
ist die G. Volpi Hütte auf dem Monte Mulaz (2571 m), eine der ältesten und
bekanntesten Berghütten im Biois Tal. Ein anderer wunderschöner und etwas
einfacherer Weg ist der in die bezaubernde Ortschaft Valfredda (1908 m). Über
die Strasse auf den San Pellegrino Pass gelangt man zur Flora Alpina Hütte,
und von dort erreicht man auf einem einfachen Wanderweg in etwa 10 Minuten
die charakteristischen Hütten „CasoniI“ im Fuchiade Tal oder die Almhütten
Malga ai Lach (1815 m) und Malga Bosch Brusà (1867 m), Etappenziele auf
dem Höhenweg der Hirten. Dort kann man einkehren und auch selbst gemachte
Spezialitäten von der Alm kaufen. Ehrgeizigere Wanderer kommen von Valfredda
auf den Forca Rossa Sattel, einem herrlichen Aussichtspunkt auf 2.490 m
Seehöhe, der die Zone mit der Ortschaft Malga Ciapela am Fuß der Marmolata
verbindet. Ein anderer Weg mit Steigen führt von Caviola nach Colmean, von
dort auf dem Wanderweg Nr. 689 zum Biwak „Papa Giovanni Paolo I“, durch
einen Wald und dann über den „Paolin-Piccolin“ Steig hinauf auf die Cime
d‘Auta Gruppe. Weniger anstrengend ist die Wanderung von der Ortschaft
Molino zur L. Bottari Hütte (1573 m), wo ein einfacher Weg ohne nennenswerte
Steigungen ins Valles Tal und zur Gastwirtschaft Valés Bas (1711 m) geleitet.

KULINARISCHES UND HEIMISCHE SPEZIALITÄTEN
Die Küche der gesamten Region besteht aus einfachen Rezepten und genuinen
Zutaten, die man in den vielen Restaurants der Zone genießen kann. Im Valle
del Biois gibt es Wildgerichte, „Schiz“, Schweinerippen, „Pastim“, Pilze,
Salami und heimische Käsesorten. Als Vorspeisen serviert man: Lasagne
da fornel, hausgemachte Nudeln mit Mohn, „Casonziei“ mit „Gamaite“

„Carfogn“, Strudel, Apfeltorte und Topfentorte. Und danach ein Gläschen des
ausgezeichneten heimischen Grappas. 11 Restaurants im Valle del Biois haben
sich zur „Kette der Restaurants mit Herz“ zusammen getan. Neben lokalen
Gerichten und raffinierten Speisen an eleganteren Abenden serviert man hier den
verliebten Paaren die „Liebesspeise“. Auf den Almen und in den Landgasthöfen
in der Region Conca Agordina kann man hausgemachte Milchprodukte, aber
auch Waldfrüchte wie Heidelbeeren, Blaubeeren, Walderdbeeren und Waldpilze
verkosten und kaufen. Unbedingt probieren sollte man: Polenta mit Tocà da
boia, Polenta mit Pastin oder Polenta mit Wildragout. Oder Suppen wie die
„minestra da orz“, die „dufa“, die „papazoi“ (in Milch gekochte Mehlnockerl) und
Gerichte mit frischen Wald - und Wiesenkräutern, das heißt mit Brennnesseln,
Bruscandoi und Sgrisoi. Ganz hervorragend schmecken auch die Süßspeisen:
Foi frit, ein Faschingsgebäck oder die Bagài (Bauernkrapfen). Und nach dem
Essen gibt es hausgemachten Grappa mit Waldaroma.

Für jeden Hotelbetrieb wird folgendes angegeben: der Hotelname,
die betreffende Einstufung mit Angabe der Sterne, die von eins
bis fünf variieren können, di Adresse, die Anzahl der Zimmer, der
Betten und der Badezimmer; die touristischen Apartmenthotel
sind mit der Abkürzung RTA neben dem Namen gekennzeichnet.
Die herkömmlichen Symbole für die seitens der Hotelbetriebe
gebotenen Ausstattung und Serviceleistungen werden in der
Legende illustriert. Wird das Symbol „MIT BEGLEITUNG
ZUGÄNGLICH“ angegeben, wird empfohlen, sich telefonisch mit
dem Hotelführer in Verbindung zu setzen, um so die persönlichen
Anförderungen abklären zu können. Die Zugänglichkeitsreglungen
nach den Normen aus dem Jahr 2008 bleiben gültig bis zum
Inkrafttreten der neuen regionalen Bestimmunge.
