La Chiesa delle Orsoline, all’estremità
meridionale della Via Centrale, risale agli
inizi del 15° secolo, è in stile gotico e custodisce
al suo interno un trittico . La torre a
punta, con il sentiero di ronda e le feritoie,
appartengono invece alle difese della città .
La Cripta è una delle parti più antiche del
monastero e risale al 1410: è quasi vuota,
ma presenta un’atmosfera
molto particolare . La Via Centrale, del
periodo tardo medievale-barocco, con i
suoi edifici dalla pittoresca merlatura, è
una delle vie più belle dell’Alto Adige . Molte

The Ursuline church at the southern end
of the main street was built in the Gothic
style at the beginning of the 15th century
and houses inside a winged altar . The steeple
and the battlement with its embrasures
were part of the town fortification . The
crypt, one of the oldest parts of the monastery
building, dates from about 1410 .
It is almost empty but nevertheless full of
atmosphere . Bruneck’s main street, dating
from late medieval to the baroque period,
is one of South Tyrol’s most beautiful with
its picturesque castellated town houses .

Top five der Altstadt
Die Ursulinenkirche am südlichen Ende der
Stadtgasse wurde zu Beginn des 15 . Jahrhunderts
im gotischen Stil erbaut und beherbergt
im Inneren einen Flügelaltar; der Spitzturm
und der Wehrgang mit den Schlüsselscharten
gehörten zur Stadtbefestigung . Brunecks
spätmittelalterliche bis barocke Stadtgasse
mit seinen malerischen, zinnenbewehrten
Bürgerhäusern gehört zu den schönsten in
Südtirol . Viele der Gebäude bestehen seit
dem 15 . Jahrhundert und sind mit wertvollen
Fresken geschmückt . Die vier Stadttore und
der runde Wehrturm sind Teile der alten
delle case di Brunico risalgono al 15° secolo
e conservano ancora stupendi affreschi .
L’unità architettonica di queste vie è molto

Ragen, ricoperta di affreschi, è disposta a
est e introduce nella parte alta della città; la
porta Floriani conserva un dipinto dell’artista

century and are decorated with valuable
frescos . The uniformity of this street of
houses is unique and only a very few similar
combinations have been able to maintain
their original character over the centuries .
The four town gates and the round fortified
tower form part of the old town defences .
The Ursuline gate was widened in 1758 so
that a large fountain could enter through
it; the frescoes on it date back to Johannes
von Bruneck (about 1420) . You can get to
the upper part of town through the eastern
protruding gate with its original fresco; the
Floriani gate has a painting by Rudolf Stolz,
