Per sottol<strong>in</strong>eare laprontezza della memoria delpoeta, si narra un aneddoto:mentre una sera vi eraseduto a cercare refrigerio,fu avvic<strong>in</strong>ato da unosconosciuto che gli chiesequale fosse secondo lui lapietanza migliore. <strong>Dante</strong>rispose: «L’uovo». Un annodopo, mentre sedeva nellastesso luogo, gli si presentòl’uomo, mai più visto, chegli domandò all’improvviso:«Con che?», e <strong>Dante</strong> risposesenza <strong>in</strong>certezze: «Col sale».At <strong>the</strong> base <strong>of</strong> a pillar, aplaque shows where “<strong>Dante</strong>’sstone” once stood.
