HEADQUARTER MAGISTRAVINISopra, sala conferenze con il grande mura<strong>le</strong>s "Germinazioni 3" di Erco<strong>le</strong> Pignatelli;blocco fermentini, adibito a sala meetingAbove, conference room with the huge mura<strong>le</strong>s "Germinazoni 3" by EttorePignatelli; block ferments used as a meeting roomThe realization of the project Magistravini conceived and founded byClaudio Quarta, entrepreneur member of Amici di Como, with a career ofresearcher in the pharmaceutical field (his <strong>com</strong>pany was the first biotechnologicalfirm rated to the Italian stock exchange and, after the fusion withthe American Versicor it was rated by the Nasdaq in New York) continueswith success. These successes, together to the scientific know<strong>le</strong>dge appliedto the winery world, <strong>le</strong>t the entrepreneur devote his time to his ancient passion:wine. Magistravini includes a network of wine cellars organized at“bunch” that touched the fundamental places of the wine culture. In thearea of the Greco di Tufo and of the Fiano di Avellino was born the AziendaAgricola Sanpaolo. On the Ionic coast of the Sa<strong>le</strong>nto, in the famous areaof the Primitivo, it is located an underground wine cellar characterizedby brand-new production technologies. Not too far from the wine cellarover 40 hectares of high quality wines in the estate of Casino Nitti, historicalfarm, with an ambitious project almost <strong>com</strong>p<strong>le</strong>ted. As administrativeand <strong>com</strong>mercial headquarters, the <strong>com</strong>pany Magistravini se<strong>le</strong>cted one ofthe historical wine cellars of a town in the province of Lecce, Guagnano,famous to be the main territorial area for the production of Negroamaro.The ancient factory is located on an important artery that <strong>le</strong>ads out of thetown in direction of Taranto, famous area of the Primitivo and after theurban development it is included in the inhabited center. The headquarterswere inaugurated on 15th June 2012 after a recovery operation carriedout with a capillary care according to the project of the architect StefaniaDe Giorgi. The project focused on a conservative restauration was developedrespecting the existing one and adapting the functions to the buildingrather than the building to the functions. An examp<strong>le</strong> are the fermentationbasins kept in their integrity turned in a meeting room. The harmoniccontrast of the materials is c<strong>le</strong>ar: an iron staircase of contemporary designand the openings and divisions of the sing<strong>le</strong> offices, made with the systemsPavillion designed by Antonio Citterio and produced by Tre-P&Tre-Più.The highly cultural profi<strong>le</strong> of Claudio Quarta is perceived in his sensibilityshown to find an union between entrepreneurship and art, through hisavailability to finance works of art then donated to the <strong>com</strong>munity. Afterhe included in the production a series of wines labe<strong>le</strong>d “of author” characterizedby art interventions, in the conference room of the headquarters inGuagnano he <strong>com</strong>missioned a huge mural, “Germinazioni 3”, to the painterErco<strong>le</strong> Pignatelli, as a continuation of the work of art he made for thenew offices of the Lombardy region in Milan, “Germinazioni 2”.185
