When you choose to spend your holiday in the
Schluga Camping World, you can enjoy all the
freedoms that make camping so attractive. In
addition, we also guarantee you pure luxury, for - in
terms of quality - we have been at the forefront of
Austria’s camping providers for over 50 years. Our
two campsites are located in the south of Austria, only
a few kilometres from the Italian border – Schluga
Camping Hermagor-Vellach, open all year round, and
the 8ha Nature Park Schluga Seecamping, only a
stone’s throw away (200m) from the Pressegger See.
With the development of nine new luxury apartments,
we have also successfully increased what we are
able to offer you. At Schluga you can also enjoy your
holiday within your “own four walls“. The apartments
lie directly on the Pressegger See lakefront, within a
30,000m2 complex, and have been designed with
careful attention to detail and an eye on design – they
are sure to win you over.

di partenza per tutte le Vostre attività ricerazionali. Al centro
della Val Gail, con magnifi ca vista sulle Alpi Carniche, troverete
qui la perfetta combinazione tra un ambiente intatto,
tradizioni popolari e modernissimi impianti. Ampie piazzole
– in parte nella versione comfort con acqua, scarico,
corrente e tv satellitare – rendono comoda la vacanza in
campeggio. Grazie all’autostrada A 23 (Udine-Tarvisio) e
l’uscita “Hermagor” a 6 km dal confi ne di stato, lo Schluga
Camping Welt è una meta facilmente raggiungibile.
Viceversa, chi proviene da nord, passa dal nodo autostradale
di Villach proseguendo verso l‘Italia fi no all‘uscita
”Hermagor“.
Terrazze al sole, con vista su lago e
montagne
Durante i mesi estivi, il parco naturale dello Schluga Seecamping
sul lago, Vi offre la possibilità di vivere il campeggio
allo stato puro. Il nostro secondo campeggio a Presseggen,
a soli 200 m dal lago Pressegger See, è situato sulle pendici
sud della Val Gail e consente una vista davvero unica
sui dintorni. Le piazzole
sono terrazzate,
in modo tale che tutti
possano godersi il
panorama esclusivo.
Chi invece preferisce
una sistemazione più
raccolta e un po’
di ombra, sceglie
una piazzola nel bosco adiacente. La spiaggia privata di
ben 30.000 mq è gratuita per i no-stri ospiti che dal bar
panoramico in riva al lago, si possono godere la vista
mozzafi ato.
In ambedue i campeggi, si possono noleggiare case
mobili, caravan e tende.

Whether you want to enjoy life and simply want
to relax and switch off, or you’re the more active
type, who prefers to spend their free time walking,
mountain-biking or swimming in the surrounding
lakes in their drinking-quality waters – the Schluga
Hermagor-Vellach campsite is not only an oasis of
peace and tranquillity, but also the ideal starting
point for countless holiday excursions. Located in the
heart of the Gail river valley and with views over the
beautiful Carnic Alps, you will discover the ideal
combination of unspoilt nature, traditional customs
and the most modern amenities. Generous pitches,
some with their own ‘comfort connections’ such as
water, waste, satellite-TV and electricity, make camping
simple and straightforward. Schluga Camping World
is an easy-to-reach holiday destination, thanks to the
convenient road network. Approach via the
motorway junction Villach, following signs for Italy (take
motorway exit Hermagor), or, alternatively, approach
from the South on the A23 from Venice, direction Udine,
Tarvisio, and after the Italian/Austrian boarder
take the second motorway exit (Hermagor).

Our second campsite is only a stone’s throw away
from the lake Pressegger See (200m), and lies on the

sunny side of the Gail valley, offering unrivalled views
over the lake. Pitches here are arranged in terraces,
so that everyone can enjoy their own individual view.
If you’re looking for something a little more wild and
romantic, you could choose one of our shady pitches
in the adjoining woodland. We also provide our
guests with use of our own 30,000m2 beach, which
is, of course, free to enter. At the beach you will also
fi nd our beach bar, complete with sun terrace and a
stunning view of the lake and mountains.
Both campsites also offer modern mobile homes, as
well as caravans and tents for hire.

mini-market aperti ogni giorno tra maggio e settembre,
Vi riforniscono di panini freschi e quant’altro serve per il

The modern and generously proportioned facilities,
combined with special well-being programmes, make
our washrooms into a genuine oasis. And those
who desire even more privacy, can, for a small
additional cost, hire their very own private shower
room and toilet.
Cool down or warm up
For a refreshing dip in the hot summer months, try
our outdoor pool at the campsite in Vellach. In the
colder winter months, you can invigorate both body
and soul in the Schluga Camping World Sauna House.
The Sauna House contains a Finnish sauna, a steam
room, a solarium, a large relaxation room and open
air space, as well as a sauna bar. On the Vellach
campsite you will also fi nd the Fit-Training Centre,
where you can get in shape using the latest
cardio-vascular and weight machines. The Fit-Team
professionals, including sports physiotherapists,
masseurs and trainers, will make sure you’re well
taken care of.
High-tech camping
The latest camping technology, including replenishment
and emptying stations for touring caravans and

motor homes on both campsites, make camping
simple and straightforward. There are also many places
to fi ll your fresh water tank, and to empty and clean your
chemical toilet. Both campsites provide free-to-use
freezers for your ice packs. Washing machines,
tumble dryers, irons, and a baby-changing room
complete with baby bath are amongst the campsite
facilities. Oven fresh bakery goods for your leisurely
holiday breakfast and lots of other essential items can
be purchased from the two campsite shops, which are
open daily (end of May to mid-September).

Nei periodi di alta stagione e durante le vacanze di
Pasqua, i nostri animatori ed i collaboratori del “Topolino-
Club” aspettano i ragazzi con attività ricreazionali che gli
fanno compiere dei bei viaggi d’avventura. Giocare agli
indiani, dare la caccia al tesoro, andare in carrozza a
bordo del “Luftikus”, arrampicarsi sulla torre, fare il pane al
forno, partecipare a regolari tornei di calcio – tutto questo
contribuisce a fare presto nuove amicizie. Ambedue i campeggi
dispongono di una sala tv, ed il programma dei
nostri cinema cambia ogni giorno. Allo zoo per bambini
a Hermagor-Vellach ed ai recinti di pony e conigli dello
Schluga Seecamping, i ragazzi possono osservare da
vicino la vita degli animali domestici.
Sotto il titolo di “vivere l’avventura à la nature”, varie aziende
turistiche della regione offrono dei programmi particolari,
adattati alle esigenze dei ragazzi, come a.e. il

Kids & activities
A land of adventures, play and new friends
Children know exactly what they want and have
earned their long-awaited holiday just as much as
their parents. And children are perhaps the hardest
customers to please. Here at the Schluga Camping
World, we make sure that they are never at a loss
for things to do. We have a varied and colourful
“Action-Programme“, which will allow your little ones
to blossom and fl ourish. In the high season and
holiday times, your children will be cared for by our
activity leaders and colleagues at the ”Topi-Club“
Kindergarten. They put together an eventful holiday
programme and take the children on exciting adventures
- from playing Cowboys and Indians to exciting treasure
hunts, riding on the Luftikus-tractor cart or taking on
the challenge of the climbing wall. New friendships
are formed baking bread over an open fi re, at
barbeque evenings or our regular football tournaments.
We also provide a TV room on each site and our
on-site cinemas offer daily feature fi lms. In the
‘Hoppel-Koppel-Schnatter’ stables in Vellach and in the
pony and rabbit enclosure at Seecamping, our animals
look forward to your children’s visits and cuddles.
Countless sport und leisure providers in the region
offer a range of activity programmes designed

according to the desires of our smallest guests – such
as rafting trips especially for children. And to add to the
variety, just a few metres from the Seecamping
campsite, is the ‘Kärntner Erlebnispark’ theme park.
Attractions such as ”Sky Dive“ or the ”Nautic Jet“
provide a unique combination of action, nature and
swimming fun.

più affascinanti per camminare. Dal fi ordo del lago
Weissensee alle rocce delle montagne, dai boschi verdi
agli altipiani delle malghe, più di 1.000 km di sentieri e percorsi

il parco d’avventura sul Passo Pramollo offre esperienze

come lo “Stanley Rider” o il “Mountainroller” per conquistare

A grown-up’s adventure playground
Many people fi nd the best way to relax is to exercise.
Our more sporty guests will fi nd many opportunities
around both our campsites to rediscover nature.
Discover the region’s most beautiful, hidden-away
places by bike. And for those who fi nd enough
strength in their legs, there are countless demanding
mountain bike routes to try. Or why not join Grandma
Schluga on a guided walk or Norbert Schluga sen. on a
mountain hike. Naturally there are also climbing trips
with mountain guides for anyone who would like to try,
and to look down into the valley from up, up above.
Stepping into nature
Carinthia‘s nature arena offers the one of the most
fascinating walking landscapes in Europe. From the
fjord-like Weissensee to the rocky mountain tops, from
the dense, green forests to the countless alpine
pastures - more than 1000km of walks, some of the
themed, provide a unique insight into unspoilt nature.
And in the many alpine farms and inns you can sample
some of the region‘s products, such as Gailtal dry-cured
ham or cheese, whilst enjoying the unparalleled
panoramic views. For those who seek a greater
adrenalin rush, there are many adventures to be had
in the Gail valley: from the “Mega Dive“, the largest

swing in Europe, which hangs by 70m long cables,
to narrow mountain ravines, where, with your canyon
guide, you can set yourself new limits, or try rafting on
the Isel or Gail rivers. The Nassfeld Adventure Park
with ”NTC Blue Day“ offers action in its purest form
and a completely new way to enjoy the mountains.
Conquer the mountains with the most modern sports
equipment such as the Stanley-Rider or Mountain Roller.
In association with ”Abenteuer Alpen“ and ”NTC“,
Schluga guests can take advantage of special rates
for rafting, canyoning, mega-diving or a host of other
new sports on Nassfeld. Our guests can also purchase

Welt, gli ospiti possono assaporare le gioie culinarie della
valle e non solo. Il ristorante “Zur Waldschenke” al parco
naturale Schluga Seecamping offre una incantevole vista
sul lago e sulle Alpi Carniche. Sulla terrazza al coperto
potete terminare le Vostre belle giornate in modo rilassante.
Piatti mediterranei come varie specialità di pesce, fanno
da contraltare alla cucina locale. Offerte speciali come la
“Happy Schnitzel Hour” fanno sì che anche gli ospiti più
giovani si saziano a dovere.

Gnocchi al formaggio, zuppa di goulash nel
pentolone, gnocchetti di Somlau, trota à la Val Gail e le
famose crêpes “Palatschinken” sono soltanto alcune delle
squisitezze culinarie con cui Vi vizia la cucina del ristorante.
Per uno spuntino, vi sono piatti piccoli, anche da portare
via. E nelle miti serate estive, dall’ampia terrazza si può
ammirare il tramonto sulle montagne circostanti.
Bar in riva al lago
All’interno dell’enorme zona spiaggia sul lago Pressegger
See, su una piattaforma rialzata vi si trova il nostro bar
panoramico con 50 posti a sedere, che, fi no a sera, offre
gelati, bevande e spuntini. Perché non godersi il panorama
davanti ad una birra o una tazza di caffè con torta, mentre
si tengono d’occhio i bambini che si divertono in acqua o
sulla parete dell’iceberg?

The gourmet culture of the Gail valley
As renowned connoisseurs, the people of the Gail
valley have valued their traditional cuisine throughout the
centuries. Guests of the Schluga Camping World can
sample the tastiest dishes of the Gail valley in our two
on-site restaurants. The restaurant “Zur Waldschenke“
at Nature Park Schluga Seecamping offers a breathtaking
view over the lake and Carnic Alps, where you
can round off a wonderful day relaxing on the covered
terrace. Mediterranean dishes and fi sh specialities bring
variety to the menu and special offers such as “Happy
Schnitzel Hour“ ensure that even our young camping
guests have something they‘ll want to tuck into.

Culinary traditions
“Schluga‘s Wirtshaus“ was well-known as long ago
as 1848, when it was know as “Zum Tschuttnig“ (a
local derivative of the Schluga surname). Today in
“Schluga‘s Wirtshaus“ you will be served by the Gasthof
Monarchie, offering countless specialities from traditional
Austro-Hungarian cuisine. From cheese noodles,
goulash soup, Hungarian Somlauer Nockerln to ’Gailtal’
trout and pancakes, our chef and his team will treat you
to top quality culinary delights. And for a quick bite to
eat, there are snacks and light meals to take away.
Lazy summer evenings are best enjoyed on the large
adjoining terrace enjoying the mountain views.

Beach bar on the lakeside
Our Umbrella Bar is located on a sun-drenched
plateau, beside the crystal-clear waters of the lake.
Ice-cream, cold drinks and snacks can be enjoyed
long into the evening hours on the lakeside terrace,
which has seating for 50 people. Why not sit here
and watch your little ones playing or climbing on
the Iceberg or simply enjoy the view of the lake and
Carnic Alps over a cool beer or coffee and cake?

Sotto il manto di neve, entro il mese di dicembre la Val Gail
si trasforma in un paesaggio scintillante ed in un eldorado
per gli amanti di sci, snowboard, sci di fondo, pattinaggio
e lunghe passeggiate. A soli 8 chilometri dallo Schluga
Camping di Hermagor-Vellach, vi si trova la fermata a valle
del “Millennium Express”
che Vi porta
comodamente fi no
a quota 2.000
metri, al centro
del comprensorio
sciistico del Passo
Pramollo. Grazie
agli oltre 110 km di
piste perfettamente preparate per tutti i gradi di diffi coltà, e
grazie ai suoi moderni impianti, il Passo Pramollo da tempo
detiene il primato tra le aree sciistiche della Carinzia. Per gli
ospiti Schluga, tutto ciò è disponibile ad un prezzo scontato,
poiché al campeggio skipass e biglietti vengono venduti a
tariffe speciali. Uno skibus gratuito che Vi porta anche verso
altre mete della valle, parte direttamente dal campeggio,
nel caso degli appartamenti De Luxe**** Schluga a 150
metri.
La più grande superfi cie di ghiaccio
naturale in Europa
Chi ama il pattinaggio, va sul lago Weissensee a 25 km
di distanza, esplorando passo dopo passo il paesaggio
innevato. Con una superfi cie di 6,5 km2 , il lago si trasforma
ogni anno nella più grande area di ghiaccio naturale di tutta
l’Europa. A soli 4 km di distanza, si trova il lago Pressegger

Europe’s largest natural ice rink
Ice-skaters who wish to experience this winter
wonderland fl ock to the Weissensee, just 25km away.
Every year the waters of the Alp‘s highest bathing lake
are transformed into Europe’s largest natural ice rink
at 6.5km2 . Somewhat smaller and nearer at hand is
the lake Pressegger See (4km), which is completely
frozen every winter. Here you will fi nd magnifi cent ice

arena also offers the largest cross-country skiing network
in the country. More than 40 classic double tracks
and a freestyle lane area can found at a snow-sure
altitude of up to 1,500m. Down on the Hermagor-
Vellach campsite, our guests are especially well looked
after. Amongst the additional services our colleagues
offer at this, the coldest time of year, is the delivery
of gas bottles direct to your caravan and assistance
in their connection. And should you fi nd you cannot
get onto your chosen pitch, we will be glad to help
you with our tractor. And after all that, rejuvenate both
your body and soul in the campsite‘s Sauna House
with Finnish sauna, steam room, solarium and large
relaxation room, or in the Fit-Training centre. We have
even provided a heated ski and boot storage area.

In alternativa, si noleggiano anche delle comode tende a
bungalow, con 25 m2 di spazio disponibile. La cucina è
ben arredata con cucina a gas, frigorifero e stoviglie per
sei persone. Tavolo, sedie, ombrellone e sedie da sdraio
completano le dotazioni.
Durante l’inverno, le nostre case mobili hanno riscaldamento
ed acqua. Chi non ha bisogno di tanto spazio, può anche
ricorrere al noleggio di una caravan per quattro persone,
con due dinette che, in quattro e quattr’otto, si trasformano
in due comodi letti matrimoniali. Corrente, cucina a gas,
frigorifero, stoviglie e tenda veranda con tavolo e sedie,
fanno sì che Vi sentirete come a casa.

comfort, naturally you can enjoy the easiest and most
comfortable form of camping at the Schluga Camping
World. Why not book one of our mobile homes or
caravans, giving you more freedom in your choice of
travel dates, length of stay and method of travel?
Comfort – just like home
Our 25-30m2 mobile homes are attractively furnished
and provide two bedrooms, a combined kitchen and
living room with a pull-out bed and a well-equipped
kitchenette. Crockery, cutlery and utensils for
six people are also provided. There is also a shower
room with wash basin and WC, and satellite TV.
Those who want to enjoy the panoramic views of the
valley will enjoy sitting outside or on the veranda,
where we have provided a table and six chairs. In the
winter, naturally our mobile homes are heated.
Those who do not require quite so much space can
book a modern caravan at the Schluga Camping
World. With two seating areas that can be converted
into two double beds, the caravans provide enough
space for up to four people. Electricity, a gas stove,
a fridge, an awning with camping table and garden
chairs, as well as crockery and cooking utensils for

four people, ensure you feel right at home. In the
summer, we can also offer you the choice of a
comfortable family-sized tent, approx. 25m2 . The
kitchen is equipped with a gas stove, fridge,

dry-cured ham festival in Hermagor, the cheese festival
in Kötschach-Mauthen, the cabbage festival in
Weißbriach, the polenta festival in Nötsch and the
