The “wings of the wind” is a phrase of praise which suggests other abstract methods of praise which occur in the piece-bells and hymns. 4.5 minutes Seven Poems of Stillness Cello and optional narrator Score 9780193408418 This continuous cycle (c.16 minutes without narrator, c.24 with narrator) intersperses seven poems by R. S. Thomas with seven movements for solo cello. The music is evocative, moving, and thoughtfully sets the mood for the poem that it precedes.
