The high-performance craft is powered by four 450hp Verado R engines – manufactured by US firm Mercury, these are the lightest and most fuel-efficient outboards currently on the market. Sea trials showed some remarkable results, with a maximum speed of 55 knots achieved, while a realistic cruising speed of 40 knots would have a range of 320 nautical miles (extending to 350nm at 36kn). At full load and with engines lifted, the draught of just 70cm enables the tender to cruise comfortably in shallow waters.
