Semi trailers are loaded with quality kiln dried lumber to be shipped to Frick’s many customers who will produce Hardwood furniture, flooring, and cabinets. Brimfield, Ind. – Established in 1924, Frick Lumber Company, manufactures and wholesales kiln-dried Hardwood lumber. Species available include Ash, Cherry, Basswood, Hickory, Cherry, Poplar, Red and White Oak, Hard and Soft Maple and many others. Founder, Herman Frick, served as President from 1924 to 1951, at which time, his son, Harold H. Frick, assumed the role of President until 2000. Harold’s son, Ford A. Frick, Sr., is currently serving as President, Ford A. Frick, Jr., is Vice President and Brenda Frick is the firm’s Secretary and Treasurer. Ford Sr. attributes the continued success of Frick Lumber Co. to providing quality products responsibly. “We produce a quality product, and integrity and honesty are incorporated into all aspects of our business. We utilize all by-products from the logs whereby the sawdust is used to fire our boiler that runs our kilns and we sell our bark and mulch for landscaping.” Frick Lumber Company’s mission is to manufacture and market high quality forest products. “We want all of our customers, whether large or small, to be totally satisfied with our product, and we always give personal attention to fulfilling every customer’s requirements.” Having survived nearly a century, this family-owned and operated Hardwood lumber company is no stranger to overcoming obstacles. After a fire destroyed the company’s main sawmill building in 2004, a 70 x 185 foot, all steel building was constructed to house a new circle mill and band re-saw. In just 10 months Frick Lumber Co. was operating with renewed vigor and innovative equipment. “We installed a Mellott debarker, Cleereman carriage with Silvatech set works and AC carriage drive, along with a B1600 Brewco Wolf Horizontal Blade resaw,” said Ford Jr. Over time, the capital investment which involved completely rebuilding has paid off. “One advantage that resulted from the new equipment has been the new band re-saw, which has proven itself so efficient that it has increased production by as much as 20 percent,” Ford Sr. added.
