HMA UPDATE Continued from page 14 cess behind the design and why Red Oak. It was a very special and rewarding collaboration! Editorial Media Services are quarterly releases geared to educate the consumer about the virtues of sourcing American Hardwood flooring, cabinetry, millwork and furniture for their homes or offices. Our most recent feature stories or online listicles do just that: • Five Ways Real Wood Floors add Appeal and Value • Transforming Under Stairs • Add Warmth and Texture to your Kitchen • Hot Trends in Kitchen Remodeling • Eco-Friendly, Health-Enhancing Home Design • Five Eye-Catching Upgrades for your Home The results are noteworthy. Our content places consistently in the ten largest Designated Market Areas (DMA)— think NYC, LA, Chicago, etc. These specific articles have appeared in over 1,100 online and print sources—think USA Today, International Business Times, Ask.com—with site audiences in excess of 213 million readers. The American Hardwood Information Center at www. HardwoodInfo.com continues to be the go-to authoritative resource for all things American Hardwood. We add content regularly, including a monthly, non-interactive blog from well-known design editor, Wendy Silverstein. The site welcomes more than 20,000 unique visitors monthly, and provides information to consumers and prosumers alike. American Hardwoods on Social Media – platforms on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest and Houzz continue to grow in popularity and spread daily facts and features of American Hardwoods. And in addition to all of this, I’m pleased to say that HMA is a founding partner (and I am an Executive Committee member) of the Real American Hardwood Promotion Coalition (RAHPC), This voluntary, industry-wide domestic promotion initiative is making crucial progress in its efforts to establish a united marketing strategy for the American Hardwood industry. To date, details on the effort are available at the ‘Hardwood Promotion’ tab at www.HMAmem bers.org. Please take a look. There is so much more we can achieve by working together. (Questions and participation inquiries should be emailed to hardwoodpromotion@gmail. com.) So, remember Butler’s words: “There’s a lot of opportunity out there just waiting for you, but you gotta hold on; you gotta keep strong, cause only the strong survive.” That describes our industry for me. Together, we’ll get through this. We might be leaner. We will undoubtedly be meaner. But we will be stronger! See you in Nashville! n JUNE 2020 n NATIONAL HARDWOOD MAGAZINE 49
