Walters Brothers’ tilted Lumber Pro 54-inch moving headrigs will be the fourth and fifth Mike Ballard moving headrigs on which Sawmill MD has installed the Danfoss High-Pressure Mist System. This system has helped sawmills significantly reduce airborne particles, which improves air quality, working conditions and reduces clean-up, Sawmill MD said. Duncan Ferguson MOUNT PLEASANT, NC– Piedmont Hardwood, based here, is updating its sawmill with a new Multi-Track Fence and a Stick-N-Fork stacker from USNR. The mill is looking to improve the accuracy and throughput of its trimmer line, and to gain efficiencies and productivity at its stacker. The Multi-Track Fence has been installed in more than 160 trimmer lines globally; USNR's stacker designs boast well over 300 installations worldwide. As part of this project, the control system will be updated to ControlLogix, and a WinTally sorter management system will be added.
