For Boise Cascade’s Executive Vice President Mike Brown, the acquisition is a natural geographic fit. “These are well-invested and managed plants that fit nicely into our existing footprint of integrated facilities in the Southeast,” explained Brown. Boise Cascade’s (formerly Coastal Plywood) plant in Havana, Florida. Investing For Today and Tomorrow The addition of Coastal extends Boise Cascade’s already robust national footprint, allowing the company to service the demand in the market and improve the ability to cost-efficiently deliver products throughout the country. This is critical to continue to meet customer demand for plywood, lumber, timber beams and engineered wood products. But as much as the acquisition benefits Boise Cascade customers today, it is just one part of the company’s larger commitment to investing in the future. With strong demand for both commodity and value-added wood products, such as the engineered wood expected for the foreseeable future, Boise Cascade remains committed to serving customers’ needs. In fact, according to Boise Cascade CEO Nate Jorgensen, this acquisition is just a first step in planned investments that bolster the company’s capacity. “We intend to invest million into our Southeast operations over three years to further our EWP production,” said Jorgensen.
