Provides Customers with Superior Products, Expanded Offerings By Zach Miller “We have really worked hard to maintain job security, and that fits in with us when weathering the next storm. So, we view ourselves as an employer that also cares for our community.” –Ron Dunn, COO, C&C Resources Quesnel, BC–C&C Wood Products Ltd., headquartered here, started as a partnership back in 1975 with the intent of manufacturing high-quality kitchen cabinets, joinery products and assorted interior home building products. Soon after incorporation in 1977, however, it became apparent there was large demand for decorative wall paneling in North America, and the company discovered its niche. The operation was initially created to re-manufacture Pine boards bought from local sawmills, but a shortage of raw material supply led the company to construct its first dry kiln in 1978 to dry the boards to an appropriate moisture content for processing into panels. The consistency of C&C Wood Products paneling quickly earned the company a reputation as a supplier of quality plank panel products. Today, with operations in three Canadian provinces and under the banner of C&C Resources Inc., C&C has the capacity to produce more than 300 million board feet of dimension wood products, plus additional products ranging from bagged shavings to industrial wood pellets. The company also manufactures a wide variety of interior plank paneling pre-finished ready to install. C&C Resources is headquartered in Quesnel, where C&C Wood Products Ltd., is located. Its main products are Pine and Cedar paneling as well as wainscoting. The company makes up to 20 million board feet a year of specialty wood products in Western Spruce-Pine-Fir. In 2006, the company purchased Foothills Forest Products Inc. in Grand Cache, AB, a Western SPF random length dimension mill that produces 150 million board feet annually.
