Reduction in combustion noise has been achievedby the use of pilot injection. Also the new gear design and profile of timing gears introduced inCitius series engines essentially reduces the mechanical noise. Reduced noise level contributesto achieving a comfortable working environment in the cabin.Fuel injection systemCitius series SisuDiesel engines with higher than 75 kW nominal rating are implemented withCommon Rail fuel injection system. Supplier of the components and basic software for CR systemis Robert Bosch GmbH, while customized program design and CAN bus communication softwareare developed and applied by Sisu Diesel. The CR system allows substantially higher injectionpressures than conventional, mechanical systems.Engines with less than 75 kW rated power feature reliable Bosch VEseries injection pump with mechanical governor. These engines are,naturally, based on the same robust engine design as those withhigher performance ratings.Third generation electronic engine control system,SisuTronic EEM3Citius series Common Rail engines feature a state-of-the-art, thirdgeneration control electronics based on years of development andapplication experience in the field.
