Recommendations Given what we found we would like to make the following recommendations: • Do not release the CSA mirror drawings for production. The present optical design of the CSA can be considered to be wrong in the present context. • Review present COA / CSA / Chopper mechanism design: - COA-CSA optical interface - Chopper mechanism optical functions and interfaces - Assesment of HIFI performance impact, in specific related to calibration and focal plane chopping - Identification of solutions and trade-offs • Initiate redesign / modifications of: - Chopper mechanism - CSA optics - COA optics 14
