WATER HEATERS IN DARLING<br />
HOUSING<br />
In an initiative between the Provincial<br />
Department of Environmental A! airs and<br />
Development, The Danish International<br />
Development Agency and the <strong>Swartland</strong><br />
<strong>Municipality</strong> 540 households in Darling<br />
received Solar Water Heaters.<br />

The installations were part of the World Cup<br />
Green Goal programme which aims to cut<br />
carbon emissions through the use of<br />
renewable energy.<br />
The homes now each have a 150-litre, highpressure<br />
flatbed solar panel.<br />
The geyser and panel, which have 10-year<br />
warranties, reduce the amount of gas and<br />
electricity used.<br />
