Reiserapport fra Colombia - Fokus

(se beskrivelse av COLEMADs arbeid senere i rapporten). Det var et interessant møte, og det så ut som om at alle
var glade for å treffe hverandre. Dessverre ble det etter vår mening litt lite tid for COLEMAD til å presentere sitt
arbeide for referansegruppen, men vi håper alle fikk et godt og seriøst inntrykk av dem.
Dagen ble avsluttet med at FOKUS spanderte en fantastisk middag på alle sammen i gamlebyen i Cartagena.
Første uken var over.
Konklusjon:
Dette var en meget innholdsrik og interessant uke. Vi fikk mange inntrykk og opplevde flere møter med engasjerte,
viktige og sterke kvinner. Carolina Maira Johansen i FOKUS hadde etter vår mening gjort en meget god jobb med å
sette sammen programmet, og hadde fått med utrolig mange momenter og møter som hun skal berømmes for! Vi i
NKJF er takknemlig for at vi fikk anledning til å delta på turen, og lære masse av de fire andre deltakerne. Vi innså
imidlertid at det ble et problem at vi ikke behersker spansk, og erfarte underveis at vi bør finne en spansktalende jurist
til dette prosjektet. Dette er ikke helt lett, da det samtidig skal være en jurist som ønsker å engasjere seg i frivillig
arbeid. Vi bør derfor vurdere om det bør søkes om støtte til en tolk. Særlig viktig blir dette for at vi skal kunne oversette
juridiske dokumenter. Når det er sagt, en stor takk skal likevel rettes til de fire andre damene som var særdeles
flinke til å tolke, spesielt Grete Knudsen!

Den siste uken var i gang, og NKJFs eget prosjektbesøk til COLEMAD sto for tur. Vi forflyttet oss fra Cartagena til
Barranquilla hvor COLEMAD holder til.
Om organisasjonen COLEMAD (settes inn på engelsk, ettersom det er på dette språket informasjonen er utformet
av organisasjonen selv):
Colectivo Mujeres al Derecho is a group of young lawyers women, curious about the social, economical and political
process that their country faces and about its effects on less favoured populations, basically those girls and women
with personal conditions, situations and social necessities that expose them to a higher vulnerability in the context of
conflict and humanitarian crisis that our country lives.
The group was created in June 2003 and since then, they have been studying and analysing the advances in the
recognition of women’s human rights at the local, regional, national and international levels. They have found a
wage legal and conceptual framework on the area, but very little advances in the practice, meaning the realization
and full exercise of human rights for women.
Their mission is to contribute to the building of a fairer and even-handed world that includes women’s experiences,
perspectives, citizenship, nature and development, to look for the effective exercise of their rights in the social, political
and juridical grounds at national and international levels.
In order to reach this goal, they take action as a progressive organization that looks forward to chip in juridical theory
and practice to the process of gender equity and justice.
They work these topics from the experiences and perspectives of women in different contexts (social, political, economical,
cultural, ethnic, and generational), taking as a reference the universal advances on women’s human rights,
with 6 legal and political strategies that support the protection, defence, development and full validity of them.
