In this way, it became a platform for communication andunderstanding of the process. This assumedly improved process was attempted on the basis ofthe material from Grefsenkollveien 16 project.The second potential improvement that was discussed was use of elements from recenttheories in the planning process, called the Lean Construction, with a "pull" perspective. Thisperspective was considered to make the planning process more flexible and so the productionmore optimal. The building information model was used as a platform for the preparation ofthe plans. A planning process was proposed and an experiment conducted on the basis of thematerial from Grefsenkollveien 16 and theory.The thesis has shown how potential improvements of the current planning of concreteproduction can be made. Performance evaluation and discussion of the two extensions was thebasis for a comparative review. The result is a building information model, with enrichment inthe form of a production simulation, which may provide a good basis for improvedcommunication and understanding of planning. New theories like Lean Construction maygive the planner further flexibility and optimization of the production.5
