Isabelle Adenot
Presidente do Grupo Framacêutico da União Europeia
Isabelle Adenot is President of the Pharmaceutical
Group of the European Union (PGEU), which gathers the
national associations and professional bodies of community
pharmacists in 31 European countries including
EU Member States, EU candidate countries and EEA/
EFTA countries. Through its members, PGEU represents
around 400,000 community pharmacists.
CURRICULUM VITAE
A doctor in pharmacy and a dispensing pharmacist,
Isabelle Adenot presided over the French Chamber of
Pharmacists’ Regional Council in Burgundy from 1999
to 2007. In 2003, she was the first woman to be elected
to the chair of the Central Council of pharmacy owners.
In 2009, she was the first woman elected President of
the National Council of the Chamber of Pharmacists. She
was elected for a second term in June 2012.
This communication will be the opportunity to put Portuguese
pharmacy in the context of European pharmacy
and health politicy. Isabelle Adenot will expose PGEU
vision of modern community pharmacy practice and options
for innovation in its different fields of activities. It
will also be an opportunity to talk about the major crisis
experienced by the pharmaceutical sector and its consequences
on access to medicines and the general performance
of health systems.
Isabelle Adenot has engaged in a vast reform of the institution,
which has been modernised in its organisation
and focused on its missions. With a resolutely international
view, she is chairing the Pharmaceutical Group of
the European Union and the International Conference
of Chambers of French-speaking Pharmacists. In July
2012, she was elected President of the committee liaising
professional Chambers in France.
