John’s Northwestern Summer Academy 

Reach new heights at St. 

John’s Northwestern Summer 

Academy. Whether you’re looking 

for outdoor adventure or 

summer school combined with 

extra activities, you’re sure to 

find a program option that will 

enrich your child’s summer experience. 

Just two hours from 

Chicago, our beautiful 110-acre 

campus in Delafield, Wisc. is the 

site for our age-based, outdoor 

adventure and indoor learning 

program for boys and girls in 

grades 1-12. 

Programs are held from late 

June to mid-August, with an 

overnight boarding option for 

7th-12th graders. Our highly 

trained staff and certified instructors

safe, fun and rewarding experience

Adventure Cam 

Boys and girls in grades 6-10 

will have a blast and challenge 

themselves at Adventure Camp. 

One-week sessions are held July 

5-10, July 12-17 and July 19-24. 

This physically active program 

is designed to stimulate, motivate 

and challenge kids to discover 

strengths they didn’t know 

they had! Campers experience 

both individual and team leadership 

roles through a combination 

of indoor and outdoor activities. 

Activities include archery, the 

“mud pit,” rappelling, rock wall 

climbing, obstacle courses, rifle 

marksmanship, paintball, laser 

tag, canoeing, boating, bubble 

ball, monster ball and more. 

Scuba, hunter safety, kayaking, 

fishing and sailing are optional 

activities offered each session 

and space is limited.

and athletic uniforms, camp

Academic OPS (Opportunities for 

Success) 

With an emphasis on character 

building and leadership skills, 

along with fun activity options, 

Academic OPS is an enriching 

way for teens to spend their 

summers. ‘OPS’ stands for Opportunities 

for Personal Success 

because YOU design your 

OPS experience. This five-week 

program, held June 28- Aug. 1, 

will challenge students in rising 

grades 7-12 in mind, body, and 

spirit. Whether the goal is to recover 

course credit or gain an 

advantage heading into the next

confidence in their chosen subject 

in a small class setting mentored

The Gow School is a college-prep

Glenbrook’s School of Rock

Rock is the world’s leading 

performance-based music

ear training, rhythm, pitch,

a house backline of guitars, 

bass, drums, keyboards, and 

mics so instrument ownership 

is not necessary. This 

session culminates in a 

showcase for families.

With the Beatles! Camp 

(7/13 - 7/17) 

Do you love everything 

about John, Paul, George, 

and Ringo? So do we. Our 

song selection will be customized 

to the playing level 

of the students and will be 

drawn from all of the Beatles’ 

albums. Ear Training 

will be covered and learning 

how to build a chord 

with voices. We will provide 

a great introduction to 

the melodies, structure, and 

musicianship that made up 

this very special band. This 

session culminates in a gig 

at our in-house venue. 

Advanced beginner and 

up (please ask), ages 10 and 

up, full day: 9 a.m.-3 p.m. 

Green Day (8/10 - 8/14) 

In honor of this long-time 

band that has carried the 

punk torch for new generations, 

we have designed 

a camp that will not only 

satisfy your urge to play 

hard, fast, melodic poppunk 

songs but also to unpack 

the band’s approach 

to songwriting. Understand 

what inspires them, drives 

their music and keeps their 

songs fresh and relevant. 

This session culminates in a 

performance at our in-house 

venue.

To accommodate busy families, 

flexible registration is available for 

most camps — choose the weeks 

you want to attend including pre- 

and post-season camps. The district

fun with You Are My Sunshine 

(ages 2 to 3), Camp Sunshine 

(ages 3 to 5) and Dancing Adventures 

(ages 3 to 5). 

Pursue ice-dancing dreams in 

skate and dance camp (ages 5 to 

12) offering skating instruction, 

practice time and off-ice classes. 

Campers will also participate in 

arts and crafts, cookouts, field trips 

and swimming. 

For younger sports enthusiasts, 

Little Champions (ages 5 to 7) 

teaches children a different sport 

each week. Youth also play a wide 

selection of sports in Sports Mania 

Camp (ages 8 to 10) and Athletic 

Adventures (ages 11 to 13). 

Step into the spotlight with the 

Limelighters Workshop (ages 5 to 

7) introduces children to theatre 

with a wide range of recreational 

activities. Participants become 

fully immersed in theater education, 

from working on set design 

and costumes to taking part in a 

live performance. Theatre Arts 

Workshop, another popular theater 

camp (ages 8 to 13), features a 

Musical Track option with a musical 

production at the end of each 

session or an Elective Track that 

provides opportunities to explore 

dance, improv, technical theater, 

stage combat and other performing 

arts techniques through specialized 

workshops. 

Do you have a budding artist 

in the house? Artistic Adventures 

(ages 8 to 13) encourages a love of 

art and supports creativity. Children 

use a variety of materials and 

learn from experienced artists to 

create masterpieces. 

Take part in themed challenges, 

relay races and logic puzzles in 

Survival Camp (ages 8 to 10) and 

enjoy field trips, sports and team 

building in Camp Trailblazers 

(ages 11 to 13). 

Try out our specialized weekly 

camps for hockey, golf and skateboarding.

Counselor Apprentice Program
