Abstract: On commission by Kalmar County
Administrative Board, staff from Kalmar
County Museum have recorded rock carvings
in the municipalities of Kalmar, Mönsterås,
Oskarshamn and Västervik. 19 rock carving
sites have been recorded by rubbing, plastic
tracing techniques and photography and the
results have been digitalizised. The preserva-
tion status and damage situation of the sites
has also been recorded. It is a prerequisite for
good management to follow up the rate of degradation
in the long perspective. This report
also contains suggestions as to information
strategies directed at facilitating public access
to the sites.
