Are you looking for an international environment?
Do you want great freedom under personal responsibility?
Some sort of connection
Pritesh Raj Aharya, IB10
I chose Åva because they offer the IB programme, which seemed like the best option for me.
I have lived abroad for five years, and I have experienced many different cultures. The IB
programme, which has international students from all over the world, felt like the natural
choice for me.
What’s best about the IB programme? I would have to say it’s the international environment.
Also, when meeting another IB student, you feel like you have some sort of connection.
After high school, I am planning to study abroad. I’m not sure where I want to study, but it
would be nice to experience a different environment. If I could choose my future workplace
freely, I’d like to work in a nongovernmental organization, such as the United Nations.
International
Baccalaureate
IB is our international programme at Åva. Taught in English, this two year diploma programme
is introduced with a preparatory year, PreIB. During this year you study subjects from the NA
or SA programme, but in English. When you begin IB in year 2, you study subjects you have
chosen according to your own interests. Three of these subjects you study at Higher Level
(HL) and three at Standard Level (SL).
IB gives you great freedom, but along with
that freedom comes a strong personal responsibility
for your own studies. You read, write
and work in a manner that makes the move
from school to university a natural continuum.
IB is well established over the world and exists
in ca 140 countries. In Sweden alone there are
31 IB Diploma schools of which Åva is one of
the best-established. Today, IB is the leader in
international education and IB graduates are
welcome at universities worldwide.
During your studies an understanding of yourself
in your home community, country, and
balance the development of the whole you.
