FOREWORD
We (Department of Philosophy of Gazi University) prepared a book whose title is
“Bibliography of Turkish Thought Works”. We managed to prepare this work after sevenyear
effort. We had been working for seven years. I had been thinking to realize such a study
for along time, as there was a gap in this field. But various obstacles and occupations delayed
it, but in spite of this we tried to prepare better work.
While we were preparing this work, a pilosophical bibliography was published.
Although this work is important, it is incomplate in many aspects. It contains only studies
published in the period of Turkish Republic. In addition, it is restricted to philosophical
studies; furthermore this book does not contain works of some famous Turkish philosopher
and the book and articles of the most turkish philosopher are very incomplate. Our work has a
wide list of books and articles which are published in a long period from Tanzimat to these
days (2003)
Our study contains these studies:
1- works on Western philosophy
2- works on Islamic philosophy
3- works on History of Turkish Thought (pre Islamic period, Selcuklu and Ottoman
period and Turkish Republic Period)
4- works on Islamic theology
5- works on philosophy of religion
6- woks on logic and history of science
Our study is composed of books, articles, master thesis, Ph D thesis and Associate
profesör thesis. Books, articles and thesis’ are listed according to the surname of outhors.
In addition, we put the books in order according to ssitematic subjets and problems of
thought in case it can guide to new studies.
In preparing this bibliography, old and new journals and bibliographies were searched
for. In this way the following journals and books were scanned:
