Prof. Dr. Öner Yusuf TORAMANIn this study, processing of manganese ores taken from Antalya and KayseriYahyalı areas was investigated applying Shaking Tables, MGS (Multi GravitySeperator), PERMROLL Dry Magnetic Seperator, Flotation and Chemical Leachingmethods. Sample characterization by XRD showed that the presence of a variety ofminerals mainly; Quartz, Manganite and Pyrolusite in Antalya sample and Quartz,Hematite, Goethite, Todorokite, Manganosite in Kayseri sample.According to experimental results a saleable concentrate is not obtainedapplying the methods mentioned above. However, at the optimum conditions (-0,106mm particle size, 180 rpm speed, 4 o incline degree, 2.2 L/min feed rates, 15% pulpdensity) of MGS for Antalya sample, a concentrate was obtained with 41.24% Mn,yield 78.71%.At the optimum conditions (1/12 solid rate, 0.4 M H 2 O 2 , 3 M HCl rate, 95 o Ctemperature, 1/12 pulp density and 120 minutes leaching time) of chemical leachingfor Kayseri sample, leaching yield was 99.18%.Key Words: Manganese ore, Shaking Table, MGS, PERMROLL Dry MagneticSeparator, Chemical LeachingII
