In addition to carrying the flag for beingAnkara’s oldest art gallery, it is among thevery few art galleries managing to keep theirplace in the market for 30 years in our country,which is challenging even around the world.Founder Taylan Tegin was born in İstanbul in1945, and spent his whole life in Ankara, excludingperiods of education. Following his returnto Turkey, he worked in various branches of themedia sector. Believing that an environmentgraced with art improved quality of life, he foundedTurkuvaz in 1980. He has held nearly400 exhibitions up to the present day.In 2009, he opened an extremely original andsmall branch at the Ankara Castle, right in themiddle of the Silk Road, with the passion andresponsibility arising from being born in Ankara.In that branch, haute couture small souvenirart works and jewelries, which complywith the general pattern of Turkuvaz, whichare nowhere-else-to-be-seen other than Ankaraand which are created by artists, most of whomheld exhibitions at the central art gallery inÇankaya district, are put up for sale in companywith Mrs. Bahar.
