The holder of choice if only one tilt axis is needed, the
single-tilt holder is equipped with an easy specimenclamping
mechanism that allows rapid specimen
exchange. Combined with the microscope's fast airlock
pumping, specimen-exchange turn-around times can be
as low as 1 minute (extracting the holder, changing the
specimen, re-inserting the holder).
Renowned for its low drift and high stability, the
Philips heating holder has been used successfully
for high-resolution, high-temperature studies. The
range of temperatures supported by this single-tilt
holder ranges from room temperature to 1000 o C.
