Sensing an important link between the capital market and industrial development in Taiwan, Mr. George T.W. Chen
established Capital Securities with initial paid-in capital of NTD300mn in 1988. Capital Securities is now an integrated
securities company offering a comprehensive range of financial services, including brokerage, proprietary trading,
investment banking, stock transfer, fixed income, margin trading and derivative products, to both institutional and
retail investors. Together with other Capital Group companies, including Capital Futures, Capital Investment
Management, Capital Futures Management, Capital Insurance Agency, Capital Insurance Advisory, CSC Securities
(HK) and CSC International Holdings, Capital is among the market leaders in both primary and secondary markets
with branch offices in all major cities in Taiwan, Hong Kong and Shanghai. With support from all shareholders and
directors, Capital is striving for further expansion and transformation into an international investment bank.
Capital has received a number of accolades from both public and private institutions over the past 20 years. Several
globally renowned financial magazines, including FinanceAsia, Euromoney, Asiamoney and The Asset, have
recognized Capital Securities as the best securities company in Taiwan and the best research team in Taiwan multiple
times. Asiamoney honored Capital Securities as the best securities company in Taiwan over the past 14 years in 2004
and again awarded the top trading honor to Capital in 2005. Bloomberg recognized Capital as the top underwriter in
Taiwan in 2006.
Capital was certified by the British Standards Institution with ISO 27001 (Information Security) in 2006, award for
contribution to information systems in 2007 and BS 25999 (Business Continuity) in 2008. Capital was the first financial
institution in Taiwan to be accredited with BS 25999. In addition, Capital was voted as the No. 1 brand among all
securities companies in a consumer brand survey conducted by Harvard Management Magazine. Furthermore, in
recognition of his outstanding achievement in entrepreneurship and management, Mr. George T.W. Chen was

1989 – Paid-in capital was increased to NTD1.6bn.
Sep., & Oct., 1989 – Capital Securities received licenses for investment banking and proprietary trading businesses
and became an integrated securities company.
Dec., 1989 – Capital Securities launched OTC trading business.
1991 – Paid-in capital was increased to NTD2.0bn; Capital Securities launched margin trading and
stock borrowing & lending businesses.
July, 1993 – Merger with Hontai Securities; paid-in capital was increased to NTD3.28bn.
