UEFA WELCOME MESSAGE<br />
UEFA-NIN SALAMLAMASI<br />
It is a special pleasure to welcome you to the first UEFA<br />
youth tournament to be held in <strong>Azerbaijan</strong>. This is not,<br />
however, the first UEFA event to take place in Baku, since<br />
the <strong>Azerbaijan</strong>i capital was the venue for the final phase<br />
of the UEFA Futsal Cup just two years ago. Yet, with<br />
16 teams in these finals, the UEFA European Under-17<br />
Championship is an event of much greater dimensions.<br />
The enlarged format was reintroduced last season after<br />
a 12-year run of eight-team final tournaments and the<br />
event in Bulgaria in 2015 successfully achieved its objective<br />
of offering international experience to a wider range of<br />
youngsters aiming to become the stars of the future.<br />
The challenge facing the Association of Football Federations<br />
of <strong>Azerbaijan</strong> (AFFA) is to host a 31-match final tournament.<br />
Judging by the hard work and enthusiasm displayed by<br />
the AFFA during the preparation stages, I am sure they<br />
will deliver a highly successful showpiece.<br />

Sizi Azərbaycanda ilk dəfə keçirilən UEFA-nın gənclərarası<br />
turnirində salamlamaqdan məmnunluq duyuram. Lakin bu,<br />
UEFA-nın Bakıdakı ilk tədbiri deyil. Azərbaycanın paytaxtı<br />
hələ iki il əvvəl UEFA Futzal Kubokunun final mərhələsinə<br />
ev sahibliyi etmişdi. Bununla belə, 16 komandanın iştirakı ilə<br />
keçiriləcək UEFA U-17 Avropa Çempionatı miqyasına görə<br />
çox böyük turnirdir. 12 il ərzində 8 yığmanın çıxış etdiyi<br />
turnir ötən ildən etibarən daha çox komandanın iştirakı ilə<br />
təşkil olunmağa başladı və 2015-ci ildə Bolqarıstanda uğurla<br />
keçirilmiş yarış gələcəyin ulduzlarına çevrilmək istəyən daha<br />
çox gənc futbolçuya beynəlxalq təcrübə qazanmaq imkanı<br />
yaratdı.<br />
31 oyunluq final mərhələsini keçirmək Azərbaycan Futbol<br />
Federasiyaları Assosiyasiyasına (AFFA) həvalə olundu. Hazırlıq<br />
mərhələsində onların zəhmətkeşliyi və nümayiş etdirdiyi<br />
ruh yüksəkliyinə əsasən hər şeyin yüksək səviyyədə təşkil<br />
olunacağına əminəm.<br />
