Compare <strong>and</strong> contrast the president?s crime control policy with crime control policy of governors <strong>and</strong> mayors. Is there<br />
consistency between policies at different levels of government? Did the crime control policy change based on the<br />
political party of the president, the governor, or the mayor? Marion <strong>and</strong> Oliver (2012) state, <strong>The</strong> president?s agenda is<br />
but one aspect of the total government agenda, but it carries significant weight in the realm of moving policies from the<br />
systemic to the institutional agenda (p. 109). One of the key elements of the president?s agenda is the crime control<br />
policy. Initial Post: Explain how the president?s agenda influences crime control policy. As you examine the policy<br />
process, explain how the president used the constitutional <strong>and</strong> institutional powers of his office to focus attention on his<br />
crime control policy. Be specific, <strong>and</strong> use examples. <strong>The</strong>n, show the effect of the policy on the overall criminal justice<br />
system or one of its components. Support your claims with examples from the required materials <strong>and</strong>/or other scholarly<br />
sources, <strong>and</strong> properly cite your references with both in-text <strong>and</strong> APA citations at the end of your post. Your initial post is<br />
due by Day 3 (Thursday) <strong>and</strong> should be at least 400 words in length. Guided Response: Review your peers posts, <strong>and</strong><br />
substantively respond in a meaningful way to at least two of your peers. Respond to at least one Instructor Response.<br />
Based on your state <strong>and</strong> political situation, are the criminal justice policies in alignment with the president?s crime<br />
control policy? How does your local crime control policy align with the policy identified in the initial post of your<br />
