to Serbia”, “Radman (the then director of hrt) go to Serbiato Serbia”.
Faced with this dangerous situation which resembled a lynch mob,
Mirjana Rakić allowed Bujanec and the author of the disputed broadcast,
/1.5.2. HSP Dr Ante Starčević party general assembly
On March 12, the right wing hsp as party, which was then part of the
ruling coalition and whose president Ivan Tepeš was Parliament’s deputy
speaker, held its general assembly in Zagreb. Speeches were dominated
by insults against Partisans, anti-fascists and liberal politicians,
Serb representatives and intellectuals. Anto Đapić, a former hsp president
and mayor of Osijek, said that “lustrations” (processes in former
communist European countries against ex-members of communist secret
services) represented a “cleansing of the Croatian society” and
a “sanitary cordon against those who never loved Croatia”.
/1.5.3. Public showing of Jakov Sedlar’s film “Jasenovac – The Truth”
The documentary, directed by Jakov Sedlar and written by Hrvoje
Hitrec , had its opening night in Zagreb on April 4. The film used
photomontage and lies to prove that there was a communist camp
in Jasenovac after ww2, in which “communists killed more people
than Pavelić’s Ustasha regime did”. The film also denigrates Serbs
and promotes the idea that the antisemitism in ndh had been imposed
by Belgrade.
Novosti journalist Nikola Bajto proved in his article that the authors,
who aimed to deny or significantly diminish the genocide and Holocaust
committed in ww2, falsified numbers, photographs, and statements
and did not refrain from manipulating their interlocutors. 33
