2nd Corfu International Festival & Choir Competition September 12 - 16, 2018 Corfu, Greece Sing on the Green Island! Supported by the Corfu Choir Union, the "2nd Corfu International Festival & Choir Competition" will bring choral singers from all over the world to the capital of the Ionian Islands in 2018 again. Corfu is the greenest island in Greece. Apart from the beautiful bays, long beaches and impressive cliffs, the roughly 600 square kilometer island is covered with olive groves. The Mediterranean flair of the island has always attracted millions of tourists – also Empress Elisabeth spent the possibly even happiest years of her life in Corfu. The historic city center of Corfu was added to the UNESCO world cultural heritage list in 2007. Already during ancient and later on medieval times this island was exposed to the influence of different cultures, especially of the republic of Venice, which mingled with Greek-orthodox traditions and led to the independent culture visible nowadays. https://corfu.interkultur.com

Είμαστε στην ευχάριστη θέση να σας καλωσορίσουμε για δεύτερη χρονιά, στη διεξαγωγή<br />
του Διεθνούς Φεστιβάλ Χορωδιών στα Ιόνια Νησιά και την Κέρκυρα.<br />
Ένα φεστιβάλ, με ιδιαίτερα χαρακτηριστικά που το αναγάγουν στην κορωνίδα των<br />
συνδιοργανώσεων των φορέων του τόπου, καθώς πλαισιώνεται από εξαιρετικά<br />
χορωδιακά σχήματα του εξωτερικού, της Ελλάδας και φυσικά της Κέρκυρας και ευρύτερα<br />
των νησιών του Ιονίου.<br />
Το πρώτο εγχείρημα της διεξαγωγής του προπέρσινου Διεθνούς Φεστιβάλ Χορωδιών στα<br />
Ιόνια Νησιά , που έλαβε χώρα στην Κέρκυρα, στέφθηκε με απόλυτη επιτυχία, φέρνοντας<br />
σήμερα, όλους εμάς υπεύθυνους να το συνεχίσουμε στην ίδια βαθμίδα, αλλά και ακόμη<br />
υψηλότερα, ώστε να καθιερωθεί και να γίνει θεσμός.<br />
Στην Περιφέρεια Ιονίων Νήσων πιστεύουμε ακράδαντα ότι η στήριξη των συγκεκριμένων<br />
πολιτιστικών εκδηλώσεων συμβάλλει ουσιαστικά στη διαμόρφωση ενός πλαισίου<br />
σύγκλισης και ανάδειξης όλων των πολιτισμών, της πολιτιστικής κληρονομιάς, της<br />
εξωστρέφειας και της σύναψης διεθνών συνεργασιών.<br />
Συγχαρητήρια σε όσες και όσους υλοποίησαν και φέτος τη διοργάνωση, αποδεικνύοντας<br />
ότι η ανάδειξη του πολιτισμού είναι ένας συστηματικός οδηγός πολιτισμικής τεκμηρίωσης<br />
που ισχυροποιεί τις γέφυρες καλής γειτονίας και αναδεικνύει τις αξίες και τις αρχές ενός<br />
τόπου.<br />
Καλή επιτυχία στη διοργάνωση και σε όλες τις χορωδίες που θα λάβουν μέρος και<br />
ευχόμαστε οι μουσικές στιγμές να μας «ταξιδέψουν» στο χρόνο, σε ήθη και έθιμα<br />
που μένουν ζωντανά, στην ιστορία που της δίνουμε και κυρίως της δίνετε, όλοι οι<br />
συμμετέχοντες, συνέχεια.<br />
