I DON’T WANT TO GROW UP
My parents told me, a
long time ago, that childhood is
the best part of human life and
that we don’t need to worry, in
this period,about anything.We
feel for the first time, what
love feels like..That feeling of
butterflies in your stomak and
then your sweet cheeks get red
and, oh my Gosh ! Now he sees
that you are red, he must know
you like him !!! All those sweet
moments, funny innocent jokes,
a lot of laughter and fun.
I am almost 16 now and,
to be honest, I miss my
“childhood”, even though I am
still a kid, I am also a teenager
and in my opinion, there is a
huge difference between those
two words.When I turned 13 or
maybe 14, everything
changed.Suddenly all people
around me were annoying at
some point.Many guys started
to make their “funny” jokes
and tease everyone around
them.So in this period, I think
that kids actually became more
mature and they slowly shape
their personalities into final
form.I am scared to grow up
because I have already felt that
scary wave of harm and being
an outsider.Serbian coulture is
effecting, the way my friends
act, a lot.Estrade,all those popstars
such as Milan Stanković or
Stanija...I mean...They are all
hilarious to me but obviously
the fault is in me, because
everyone else thinks opposite
then me.So they wear short
dresses, heels, thick T-shirts
and, unfortunately, that is not
my stile and I feel really bad for
them because(maybe I am not
right) but they are just too
young and with this kind of
clothes they can just atract
attention of pedophyles to
themselves and then, God
forbid, something bad happens
to them and it comes out in
newspapers and everyone’s like
“Oh my Gosh..Poor kid,she was
so nice..Patriarchal
family,shy..“, blabla..Yeah,maybe
that is the
case one in million.I
don’t like the feeling of
being an outsider,it
wasn’t like this when I
was just a little girl.All
those differences
between us are in 99%
the subject of
judgement.
I am afraid to
grow up because I don’t
want to see hell years
coming...One day I will,
hopefully, be a mom and
I really wouldn’t like to
see my daughter falling
under this preasure of
being a part of “cool“
groups,so she needs to
smoke,try some “other stuffs“
and become a street girl.I am
scared to grow up because I
don’t know how much I can
resist and deal with all those
comments.It’s hard to live your
own life because everyone puts
their noses into it..I am really
sick of this!
