INTO THE SOUL OF THE FOREST<br />
During this tour you will visit:<br />
Mtirala National Park 15,698 hectares situated in the western Lesser Caucasus.<br />
Located between the Black Sea and Adjara Mountain Range Mt. Mtirala is one of the most<br />
humid areas in Georgia with average precipitation of 1,200 - 2,000 mm (sometimes<br />
exceeding 4 000 mm). Rich with chestnut and beech woods, Mtirala was established to<br />
preserve the outstanding Colchic type forest, characterized by sub-forests: cherry laurel<br />
shrubs, Colchic box trees and a variety of lianas (vines). Mtirala is the home of Roe deer,<br />
Wild boar and Brown bear. Booted eagles, Eagle owls and Golden orioles are avifauna that<br />
can be found in the park. Mtirala's amphibian world is very diverse. Caucasian<br />
salamanders, Caucasian toads, Eurasian mash frogs and Caucasian vipers inhabit the park.<br />
During the tour you will admire the beautiful gorge of the Chakvistskali River, a waterfall<br />
covered in ivy and an amazing lake.<br />
