16. Festiwal Ciało/Umysł
IT’S TIME
FOR TIME
16th Ciało/Umysł Festival
Czy doświadczyli Państwo kiedyś konkretnego zachwiania naszego
poczucia czasu? Mnie się to zdarzyło.
Have you ever experienced any actual distortion of your time perception?
It has happened to me once:
Wspomnienie:
czerwony guzik. Skupiam się, ale myśli krążą nieuporządkowane.
Zastanawiam się jaki przyjąć pomiar, czego się uchwycić? Liczę do
Daleko – blisko, wszystko ginie
w mroku. Zaczynam obserwować, co mi przychodzi do głowy.
Wszystko, tylko nie teraźniejszość. Same troski i trochę się podśmiewam
z absurdu sytuacji.
Zaczynam tańczyć, a raczej poruszać kończynami, bo
ciasno. Spowalniam czas poprzez odpowiednie ruchy, przyspieszam,
potem znów zwalniam wraz z rytmem oddechu, zmieniam tempo,
powtarzam – nic nie jest ustalone na zawsze. Wspaniały stan. Prawa
i skracanie czasu potrzebnego do wykonywania różnych czynności
– mamy go teoretycznie dużo więcej, niż kiedykolwiek przedtem.
Dlatego zagadnienie
czasu tak dręczy każdego z nas. Chcemy za wszelką cenę go
zmierzyć, określić, pokonać, oszukać, licząc, że to przybliży nas do
zrozumienia jego tajemnicy.
Dlaczego czas na C/U? To proste, chcemy pokazać coś, czego zobaczyć
nie można. Trzeba tego doświadczyć. Taniec, teatr, sztuka
potrafią zatrzymać czas. To są momenty zacierania granic, jakbyśmy
rozpływali się w czymś, stawali częścią czegoś większego. Jak najwięcej
takich momentów życzę Państwu na Ciało/Umysł.
Do zobaczenia w odpowiednim czasie!
Recollection:
I am sitting in a black hole, some limited soundproof space where I am
to determine the passing of 15 minutes and signalize it by pressing
a red button. I am focusing, but my thoughts are in disorder. I am wondering
which unit of measure to use, how to get hold of it? I am counting
to 60 but I get confused with both rhythm and numbers. I am trying to
breathe easy, 10 breathes, 3 seconds for each inhale and exhale, that
should add up to a minute but it doesn’t work either. I start yawning.
I am closing my eyes, even though I cannot see anything anyway,
I am listening intently to the outside world but no sound whatsoever
can be heard in here. Far or close, everything is sinking in the darkness.
I am beginning to take notice of what is entering my mind.
Everything but the present. Nothing but concerns. I start laughing at
the absurdity of the situation a little. I am looking for some other tools
which would help me to find my feet. I am hungry for anything, I want
to press the button but not even 5 minutes have passed yet. This elusiveness
is frightening; I am trying to control my fear of nothingness. All in
vain. Silence, calmness, darkness, infinity and a feeling that anything
can happen. I am lost. Since I don’t know what makes me unable to
determine the passing of minutes, I decide to spend them in the best
why I can. I start dancing, or rather moving my limbs since there is not
much space here. I am slowing down time by making certain movements
and then I am speeding it up; then I am slowing down again
together with the rhythm of my breath, I am changing the pace and
repeating it all – nothing is determined forever. What a wonderful state.
The rules of time have lost their powers. Time stands still and a moment
encompasses everything that has ever happened and all that will come.
Thanks to new technologies, whose task is to make our lives simpler
and shorten the amount of time needed for various activities, in theory
we have much more time than ever before. In reality, however, we all
feel that there is too little of it. And even when we have it, we often
don’t know what to do with it. That is why the concept of time torments
each and every one of us. We wish to measure, determine, defeat
and deceive it at all costs, hoping that it would bring us closer to
understanding its mystery.
Time at C/U? It’s simple – we want to show something that cannot be
seen. It has to be experienced. Dance, theatre, art can stop the time.
These are the moments when the borders are blurred, and we become
a part of something bigger. I wish you many moments like these
during Ciało/Umysł Festival.
