I have: No time Experience Clevedon’s country charm. You’ll find plenty
of attractions to choose from, including a bird garden, boutique vineyards, native
bush treks, river and coastal kayaking, foodies’ tours, an historical museum and
an animal farm. Every Sunday the Clevedon Farmers’ Market tempts with an
array of local foods, while the Clevedon Village Market has a variety of crafts and
curios. Drop into the oyster shop for the freshest oysters straight from the sea.
I have: A Bit of time Just 25 minutes from downtown Auckland
lies the delightful village of Howick. Enjoy lunch at a café or a stroll around the
charming specialty shops. Wander around the historical village, a living museum
presenting life in a fencible village during the early settlement of Europeans in
Auckland. For some time outdoors, relax at nearby Eastern or Bucklands Beach.
Both are great spots to enjoy fish and chips or an ice cream. Golfers can enjoy
the spectacular panoramic views of the Hauraki Gulf from the local course.
I have: PleNty of time Take a scenic ferry ride from downtown
Auckland to Pine Harbour for a relaxing day out. Enjoy a leisurely lunch at one of
the cafés or a picnic in the landscaped gardens, take a stroll around the marina,
or swim at a sheltered beach. On Saturday mornings Pine Harbour Fresh Market
is a great place to fill a gourmet picnic basket to take with you as you explore
the picturesque Pohutukawa Coast. Named after the beautiful flowering trees
fringing its shoreline, the Pohutukawa Coast includes the seaside villages of
Beachlands and Maraetai and regional parks at Duders Beach and Omana.
