How long have you worked
at The Earl of Doncaster Hotel
and what are your main
responsibilities?
One Year. I am mostly
responsible for Marketing,
Advertising and E-Commerce.
What is the best thing
about working at The Earl
of Doncaster Hotel?
It’s distinctive 1930’s decor. Our
magnificent boutique Ballroom
and stylish Cafe Bar Concerto
Restaurant, as well as 73
individually styled bedrooms,
are just a small part of what
we have to offer.
What word best describes you?
Determined - I take pleasure in
challenges. I work hard with the
great team of people around me
to get the results that the property
needs. Without determination,
the competitive world of hotel
marketing would be a very
difficult place.
What’s the most bizarre experience that you’ve
had at work?
This is not so much bizarre as interesting! Last month
I met SKY TV Presenter Jeff Stelling when he stayed
at the hotel during his Ten Marathons in Ten Days
Challenge for Prostate Cancer UK. He was kind
enough to have photographs with me and my
General Manager.
What is the best piece of career advice you
have been given?
To take pride in every task and project you are
involved in. Not only will you then thoroughly enjoy
your work, but you will give it your very best effort.
You have to apply yourself to succeed in today’s
competitive hotel marketing world.
Name one thing not many people know
about you?
I am actually a keen martial arts enthusiast. As well
as having a passion for writing about such sports,
I have actually competed in competitions while
studying at University.

What’s your favourite song of all time?
‘45’ by The Gaslight Anthem.
They have such a unique and energising sound,
and this song is a particular favourite. This sort of
music really gets you in the right frame of mind for
a day at work.
Do you have any hidden talents?
I would say a hidden talent for me is that I can
play electric and acoustic Guitar, and have done for
many years since I was in primary school. I am also
a keen reptile and amphibian keeper too.
Who or what is your guilty pleasure?
Chocolate! Despite eating as healthily as possible,
I do treat myself to a good portion of chocolate
every now and then.
If you could be anybody else
for a week, who would you be?
Vince LaRuffa - Vince is the Vice
President of Resort Marketing
for the onsite hotel complex at
Universal Studios in Orlando.
It would be exciting to see what
a day at work is like for Vince,
being responsible for such a
large and outstanding group
of hotels.
If you could live anywhere in the world,
where would you live?
It would probably be in the USA, maybe Florida.
I am a Rollercoaster enthusiast and have had many
great holidays out there with my family and fiancé.
