How long have you worked<br />

at The Earl of Doncaster Hotel<br />

and what are your main<br />

responsibilities?<br />

One Year. I am mostly<br />

responsible for Marketing,<br />

Advertising and E-Commerce.<br />

What is the best thing<br />

about working at The Earl<br />

of Doncaster Hotel?<br />

It’s distinctive 1930’s decor. Our<br />

magnificent boutique Ballroom<br />

and stylish Cafe Bar Concerto<br />

Restaurant, as well as 73<br />

individually styled bedrooms,<br />

are just a small part of what<br />

we have to offer.<br />

What word best describes you?<br />

Determined - I take pleasure in<br />

challenges. I work hard with the<br />

great team of people around me<br />

to get the results that the property<br />

needs. Without determination,<br />

the competitive world of hotel<br />

marketing would be a very<br />

difficult place.<br />

What’s the most bizarre experience that you’ve<br />

had at work?<br />

This is not so much bizarre as interesting! Last month<br />

I met SKY TV Presenter Jeff Stelling when he stayed<br />

at the hotel during his Ten Marathons in Ten Days<br />

Challenge for Prostate Cancer UK. He was kind<br />

enough to have photographs with me and my<br />

General Manager.<br />

What is the best piece of career advice you<br />

have been given?<br />

To take pride in every task and project you are<br />

involved in. Not only will you then thoroughly enjoy<br />

your work, but you will give it your very best effort.<br />

You have to apply yourself to succeed in today’s<br />

competitive hotel marketing world.<br />

Name one thing not many people know<br />

about you?<br />

I am actually a keen martial arts enthusiast. As well<br />

What’s your favourite song of all time?<br />

‘45’ by The Gaslight Anthem.<br />

They have such a unique and energising sound,<br />

and this song is a particular favourite. This sort of<br />

music really gets you in the right frame of mind for<br />

a day at work.<br />

Do you have any hidden talents?<br />

I would say a hidden talent for me is that I can<br />

play electric and acoustic Guitar, and have done for<br />

many years since I was in primary school. I am also<br />

a keen reptile and amphibian keeper too.<br />

Who or what is your guilty pleasure?<br />

Chocolate! Despite eating as healthily as possible,<br />

I do treat myself to a good portion of chocolate<br />

every now and then.<br />
