We will work on competitive stroke technique,<br />
start & turns and endurance. Swimmers must<br />
be able to swim 200 yards continuously and<br />
have a strong freestyle & back stroke with an<br />
understanding of breast stroke and butterfly.<br />

YMCA Lifeguard Course<br />
(You Must be 16 to take this course) Pool<br />
Family $250 Individual $250 Community $350<br />
The YMCA Lifeguard course trains participants<br />
to prevent, recognize and respond to aquatics<br />
emergencies and to provide care for breathing and<br />
cardiac emergencies, injuries and sudden illnesses<br />
until emergency medical services (EMS) personnel<br />
take over. To complete the course participants must<br />
pass the entry exam, attend all lessons and pass<br />
the final written and practical exams. The Lifeguard<br />
course is approximately 26 hours long. Upon<br />
completion of this course participants will receive<br />
a YMCA certificate for Lifeguarding/<strong>First</strong> Aid/CPR/<br />
AED valid for 2 years. For more information about<br />

Learn To Lap (18+ Years)<br />
SUMMER I & II: YMCA Members $FREE<br />
A FREE class to teach lap swim etiquette,<br />
improve technique and goal setting.<br />
Master’s Swim Team (19+ Years)<br />
SUMMER I & II: Family/Senior $FREE<br />
Individual $FREE Community $150<br />
Team members must be YMCA members. Members<br />
should be able to swim 500 continuous yards.<br />

Water Exercise Classes<br />
Water Exercise classes are free and available for<br />
YMCA members on a first come first served basis.<br />
No advance registration required. When coming<br />
into the Y before a scheduled class, members<br />
must sign in to the class registration list located<br />
at the Welcome Center in order to confirm their<br />
attendance and reserve their spot for that day.<br />
Water Exercise classes run year round with no<br />
session breaks.<br />
Aquacize<br />
Aquacize is a water-based exercise class that<br />
focuses on aerobics, muscle strengthening and<br />
flexibility. All classes held in the Teaching Pool.<br />
