WELCOME TO THE
MERRIMACK VALLEY YMCA
Every day the Y’s impact is felt when an individual makes a healthy choice,
when a mentor inspires a child and when a community comes together for a
common good. As a 501(C) (3) volunteer-founded, volunteer-led organization
the intent is to foster social connectedness, strengthen support networks, and
encourage investment in our communities, which in turn serves to strengthen
the foundations of our community. This is all done at no cost to the neighboring
cities and towns thereby lessening the burdens of government.
Membership dues support everyday operations. However, the Merrimack
Valley YMCA endeavors to secure grants and conduct annual fundraising
campaigns and events, in order to provide financial assistance, charitable
services, and access to people of all income levels. The Merrimack Valley
YMCA provides millions of dollars each year in essential services and financial
assistance initiatives focused on youth development, healthy living and social
responsibility aligned with the unique and diverse needs of the communities
it engages. The Y’s activities have significantly enhanced public access to
fitness, health, educational enrichment and numerous other services; especially
among children, the disabled, the homeless, the needs associated with an aging
community and other at-risk populations.
The Y is, and always will be, dedicated to building healthy, confident, connected
and secure children, adults, families and communities.
Access/Membership Restrictions Policy
The protection of members and guests who are participating in programs or
are using YMCA facilities is of paramount concern to the staff of the Merrimack
Valley YMCA. Therefore, we reserve the right to deny access or membership to
any person who:
• is a registered sexual offender.
• has pled guilty to or been convicted of any crime involving sexual abuse.
MY Y STORY
Youth & Government
This past year I had the opportunity be part of the Youth
and Government program at the Merrimack Valley YMCA.
Youth and Government is a national program of the Y that
involves thousands of teens nationwide in state-organized,
model-government programs.
I served in the Judicial Division. Here I learned the roles
of attorneys and justices as they work through an actual
case and create legal briefs. I chose to participate in the
Appellate program in which we worked through our cases
in real trial time during the annual conference in Boston.
After that amazing experience, I applied to represent
Massachusetts at the National Judicial Competition, which
will take place in Chicago this summer. I am proud to say
that I have been chosen as one of the representatives from
Massachusetts.
I know I am very lucky to have this opportunity and ask
you to consider making a gift to the Merrimack Valley
YMCA’s Youth In Government program so all teens can
have this chance. A gift of $500 will provide a scholarship
to one local teen to be a part of the program for one year. A
contribution of any amount is extremely helpful in building
our Youth In Government Scholarship Fund so that all teens
can participate in our state level conference and to provide
the opportunities for other teens to participate in the
national level events like NJC and the Youth Conference on
Government Affairs (CONA).
-Anna Rozzi, Age 15
I LIKE PLAYING BASKETBALL
Hi, my name is Seamus and I am five years old.
I come to the Y because it is my school. I like playing
basketball when school is over. I know how to dribble
the basketball and can throw the basketball in the hoop…
sometimes. I like the Y and the gym.
- Seamus, Preschool Program Participant
Together we can build a better us.
