Det var meget flotte karakterer, der blev givet
ved den mundtlige fremstilling.
Vinterferie
Mange undrede sig over, at NGG i år har vinterferie
i uge 9.
Det skyldtes at vi på NGG for mange år siden
vedtog i forældrekredsen og blandt de ansatte,
at vinterferien på NGG altid skulle falde i den
uge, hvor Fastelavns mandag ligger.
Fordelen ved dette er, at vi efterfølgende altid
har 5 uger til påske og at der er mange år, hvor
rejser og andre aktiviteter er betydelig billigere
end i uge 7, hvor de fleste skoler/gymnasier har
fri.
Eksempelvis gav gymnasieeleverne meget mindre
for deres fælles skitur i vinterferien end
andre gymnasier, der tog af sted i uge7.

Informations from The International
Department of NGG – called HIS
Feedback from PYP consultations was positive,
with both parents and teachers confirming that
the consultations were informative and led to
better understanding and cooperation between
home and school.
Students (in the form of Princesses, Super Heroes,
Builders, Storybook characters and more)
of all ages enjoyed Fastelavn celebrations in
the small gym. Kings and queens were proud
to wear their crowns after “bashing” the barrels
to smithereens.
MYP students received their report cards the
day before winter break. I am confident their
hard-earned grades only enhanced the thrill of
having a week free from school. As a follow-up
to these reports MYP consultations took place
over two weeks, with positive feedback from
parents and some good ideas on how to ensure
all teachers can meet with all parents within the
time frame.
We will be trialling a new system next school
year.
Five teachers, four MYP and one PYP, attended
IB workshops in their subject areas in Amsterdam
and Budapest. The Vice-Headmaster attended
a Heads conference and was pleased to
have confirmed that our school closely aligns
with the IB mission and philosophy.
Several good ideas and suggestions have been
taken on board and will be in place for next
school year.
