One small change will be the names of our MYPclasses.In the past they have been assigned gradenumbers, Grade 6-10. In further aligning withthe IB we will be using IB terms for all MYPgrade levels as follows: Grade 6 becomes MYP1,Grade 7 becomes MYP2 and so forth on to Grade10 becoming MYP5.Grade 9/10 students were proud to turn overtheir Personal Projects to their supervisors forassessment and then to present their best workto parents and school community.Well done to these students for demonstrationthe depth of their understanding of the Areasof Interaction as a context for all subject arealearning.Parents and teachers alike were amazed at therange of interests and abilities these youngpeople demonstrated. Their confidence in presentingwas admirable.MYP5 is the final year of the 5-year MYP pr<strong>og</strong>ramme.It is the year just before the Diploma Pr<strong>og</strong>ramme,DP1. To clarify, when students complete MYP5at HIS they are able to transit smoothly, directlyinto the Diploma Pr<strong>og</strong>ramme.This means our students do not need to take‘Pre-IB’ at Birkerød or Nørre Gymnasium.The IB does not rec<strong>og</strong>nize ‘Pre-IB’ nor do theyacknowledge it within their pr<strong>og</strong>ramme. The IBis set to run smoothly from PYP to MYP to DPwith no gaps between the three pr<strong>og</strong>rammes.Our MYP 5 will ensure students complete allForårskoncert med BH til 2. klasseIB requirements in order to be prepared for thefinal two years of schooling (DP) before university.Fastelavnsfesterne på den danskeafdelingTirsdag d. 10. februar havde skolen kaldt elever<strong>og</strong> forældre i BH. klasserne <strong>og</strong> 1. klasserne tilfastelavnsfest.Mange hjem havde efterkommet invitationen<strong>og</strong> delt<strong>og</strong> med brask <strong>og</strong> bram i dansene <strong>og</strong> vedat “slå katten af tønden”.Om det var de rigtige, der blev kattekonger <strong>og</strong>dronninger, eller om de bare var heldige, videsikke – men de nød det alle sammen.Aftenen sluttede med at alle børnene så cirkus“Panik” optræde.
