Jan All<strong>in</strong>g is currently outof school with a longer term illness. We wish him a swift recovery <strong>and</strong> lookforward to see<strong>in</strong>g him back soon!2. Shannon Santora, 4i homeroom teacher, is currently <strong>in</strong> Hannover,Germany, on a mathematics tra<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g course ‘Math Their Way’ run byLesley Snowb<strong>all</strong>, a lead<strong>in</strong>g educational consultant. We look forward todevelop<strong>in</strong>g our Primary Maths Programme on her return.3. Primary: We look forward to see<strong>in</strong>g lots of excited actors, s<strong>in</strong>gers <strong>and</strong>dancers on the Big Gym stage next Wednesday 14 th November for theRocky Monster Show. Please be sure to br<strong>in</strong>g your child to the classroomat the time arranged with the class teacher <strong>and</strong> grab your seats <strong>in</strong> the BigGym ready for the performance start at 17:00.4. Change of In-Service Date: The In-Service half – day tra<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g dayscheduled for April 11 th is now cancelled. Instead there will be a wholeday In-Service tra<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g for Primary teachers on April 12 th (primary studentshave a school free day. Child care can be arranged with Svaneredennearer the time).
5. A half day In-Service tra<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g for Secondary teachers on April 12 th (schoolwill end at 11:30 for Secondary students). Please note this change fromApril 11 to April 12 for CIE students.6. Kendama, the b<strong>all</strong> <strong>and</strong> stick game which has suddenly becomeimmensely popular, must be played only:- at playtimes <strong>and</strong>- outdoors.If a student is play<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong>doors, at any time, the Kendama will be turned <strong>in</strong>to the office <strong>and</strong> the student can pick it up after school hours. Please helpus by rem<strong>in</strong>d<strong>in</strong>g your students about this procedure.7. <strong>NGG</strong> <strong>ID</strong> toilets were closed for two days this week while a locksmith wasc<strong>all</strong>ed <strong>in</strong> to repair <strong>all</strong> 4 door locks which had been v<strong>and</strong>alized. Allbathroom cubicles could not be locked. The locksmith has now repairedthese <strong>and</strong> we are talk<strong>in</strong>g to students about respect for school property.We ask that you also have a chat with your child. If your child seesanother student damag<strong>in</strong>g any property, ask them to come to the officeor talk to a teacher so action can be taken. This is be<strong>in</strong>g responsible- it isnot tattl<strong>in</strong>g.8. Welcome back to C1!
