We are happy to invite you for the 19th IPPNW European student conference!
For everyone who is not familiar with IPPNW, a short introduction about this organization is in order:
International Physicians for the Prevention of Nuclear War (IPPNW) is the only international medical organization
dedicated to preventing nuclear war and abolishing nuclear weapons. It recognizes that the catastrophic health
and environmental consequences of a nuclear war are at the extreme end of a continuum of armed violence that
undermines health and security.
IPPNW is committed to ending war and advancing understanding of the causes of armed conflict from a public

The theme of the conference this year is ‘Target Earth’, and every day of the conference will have a different subtheme:
November 27th: Arrival and Opening
November 28th: Nuclear Weapons & Terrorism
November 29th: Interfacultary Day
November 30th: Climate
The aim of the conference is to bring IPPNW-students and other people interested in IPPNW together. Participants
can exchange ideas, learn from each other and improve their knowledge about IPPNW-related topics.
We hope the participants become motivated to start or continue working on local IPPNW-activities.
They have the chance to find useful contacts, and will be able to help each other with local activities after the
conference. The program contains interesting workshops and plenary sessions and...
An exciting social program with a tour around Amsterdam, crazy parties, a cultural night and of course a Target X in
the centre of the Dutch capital city! So, get prepared! Before the conference, there will be a bike-tour for everyone
who wants to join! The tour starts in Volkel (the place in the Netherlands where the NATO stores nuclear weapons)
and will finish in Amsterdam, where the conference is located.
