VISHTEN (CAn)
Emanuelle LeBlanc: Bodhran, Klavier,
Stimme, Whistle, (Step-)Tanz
Pastelle Le Blanc: Akkordeon,
Klavier, Stimme, (Step-)Tanz Pascal
Miousse: Fidel, Gitarre, Mandoline
Vishten’s music is a mixture of the French, Irish and Scottish styles of Eastern
Canada, with fiery fiddling and powerful step dancing taking front and center. Their
stage show re-creates the joy and energy of the „kitchen party“, informal community
gatherings where everyone is welcome to sing, play and dance. The rhythms and
melodies are inseparable, and reflect a special joie de vivre unique to the Acadian
culture, with flying fingers, tapping feet, and an unabashed sense of celebration.
KEANE/McGIVER/O´CONNELL (ie/USA)
Conor Keane: Akkordeon Ryan McGiver: Stimme, Gitarre
Michael „Blackie“ O´Connell: Uillean Pipes
Ryan McGiver hat mit seinem Indie-Folk-Debüt „Troubled In Mind“ für
einiges Aufsehen gesorgt.
Niveau zelebrierten traditionellen Irish Folk.
With „Troubled In Mind“ Ryan McGiver released a stunnig indie-folk album. Yet
together with acclaimed Irish musicians Conor Keane (a creative force of his own
on the diatonic acordion he played with the Tulla Ceili Band, Four Men And A Dog
and many others) and Michael „Blackie“ O´Connell, one of the most exciting young
„Pipers“ in Ireland today the focus is clearly on traditional Irish Folk, played with soul
and feeling.
BIRDS OF VIENNA (AT)
Helmut Jasbar: Gitarre, Moderation
Heidelinde Gratzl: Akkordeon
Melissa Coleman: Violoncello
Helmut Jasbar, Komponist, Ö1-
Moderator und Musiker nimmt mit
seinen kongenialen Koleginnen als
Instrumentaltrio die künstlerische
„Birds Perspective“ ein, um so
der Wiener Musik – „von Franz
Schubert bis zu Anton Karas, von
Roland Neuwirth bis zu Joe Zawinul“
– eine neue Vielfalt und Tiefe
zu geben. Dabei lösen sich Birds
Of Vienna, die schon in China
konzertierten von Genrefragen
und werden Jasbars Affinität zur
Postmoderne gerecht.
„Bei meiner Arbeit sehe ich
keinen dezidierten Personalstil.
Ich mache Popmusik für Leute,
die Popmusik langweilt.“
Helmut Jasbar
Led by Helmut Jasbar this trio reimagines Viennese music, lending a new depth
and clarity to music by Franz Schubert, Anton Karas, Roland Neuwirth or Joe Zawinul,
in the process intentionally transcending the matter of genre.
EDIN BOSNIĆ TRIO (BA/rS/AT)
Edin Bosnić: Akkordeon
Alexander Lackner: Bass
Dušan Novakov: Schlagzeug
Seit 2003 lebt und
arbeitet der bosnische
Musiker Edin Bosnić in
Wien und pflegt hier
seine anregende Form der
musikalischen Wurzelkunde.
Ausgehend von den
Melodien seiner Kindheit
Feinster
„Balkan Jazz“!
Bosnian musician Edin Bosnic moved to Vienna in 2003 where he started to
play the sounds and melodies of his childhood in his unique and folkloristic way. The
Edin Bosnic Trio gives a certain urgency and immediacy to the material, making them
one of the finest ambassadors of „Balkan Jazz“!
